Really cute story. AU, but hey, who cares?
Teary Maystar chapter 1 . 12/25/2012
One of the most heart warming fictions I have ever read. Enjoyed every moment of it. I was hopping for something nice to read as I laid down on Christmas Eve, and this more than did the trick. I will have to read this every Christmas eve, I think.
magtreefrog chapter 1 . 10/27/2011
Touching, sweet, and very well written.
avalon2004 chapter 1 . 1/19/2009
This is really beautiful...I love it. We never get to see enough of young Tenchi and astral Ryoko in the series, and this is a lovely, goosebumpy little vignette that captures them, and Yosho, so well.
Mayasiiu chapter 1 . 5/16/2006
por ryoko... I feel so sorry for her in this
Rioes chapter 1 . 2/16/2006
Aww, very nice you two! Simple yet very well done, made me smile.
Malkavia chapter 1 . 8/21/2004
Oh wow, I really liked this fanfic. It certainly was different, me and so many other authors always tend to go straight for the adukt relationships..

I hope you still check your reviews. And I hope you are writing more stories like this right now.
Mythicas Iris chapter 1 . 3/6/2004
This was Wonderful! It's rare to find moments of Tenchi as a boy and it's only little pieces. I liked how you made an entire fic out of a young Tenchi's view. This was very well done! I really enjoyed it! (If you can't tell already! )
Digital DragonLord chapter 1 . 5/21/2002
I love it! I always like it when an author forays into the past and brings new light to the future. Keep up da good work both of you.

eixid chapter 1 . 2/21/2002
An excellent fic.

From start to finish it drew me in and never let me up for air. Diane, while this is the first thing I have read that you participated in, it will most definitely not be the last. It is so great to see two authors with your talent come together and write something this good.

Tenchi’s method of thinking as a child, Ryoko watching him, and getting her present are just a few moments that I could go on about. But the fic as a whole dominates these already superb aspects.

I hope to see other works bearing the signatures of Dreamweaver and Long in the future.

The Great El Dober chapter 1 . 2/3/2002
It's been a long time since I've logged in to this account, a long time since I've really read Tenchi fics full stop but when I saw this I couldn't resist.

The story is brilliant, the way you two managed to get into the mind of a young Tenchi was very insightful. The part "in some legendary time that Tenchi could hardly imagine, when she was his age," I mean that part alone just shows so much thought that went into trying to capture his character and it all paid off. That's just one example though, to list every noteworthy quote would be like retelling the story, for it was littered with them.

I loved the bit where he crept out the kitchen, the whole bit with the lightswitch and the realisation about early morning. It gave such a vivid sense of his age, his innocent way of thinking and really created such a clear impression of a small boy still discovering things in the world.

Ryoko was portrayed every bit as well. Parts like her thoughts on the animals and her thinking of him as "her little Tenchi" showed her gentler side as well as having some rescemblance to the way Washu addressed her, reminding us of the sad paralells between the two.

The attempted communication between her and Tenchi was one of the best scenes I can remember in Tenchi fiction. There was a real beauty to it, I can't really quite say what it was, but they way the scene played out, it was just such a well thought out quality piece of writing.

I'm just picking favourites out of brilliance though, the whole piece was excellant.

Diane - It reminded me of your incredible talent to write about things that seemed small in the grand scheme of the story but made it feel so vividly important. I always marvelled how you could fit more impact into a river stone that I could into a climactic battle. The gift of a flat river stone took me all the way back to my fond memories of "Little Ryoko" and how I found their use so powerful then, its just as strong now. You are still one of the best writers I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Krin - I'm afraid to say I never really knew you other than in reputation and I'm beginning to regret that. I couldn't tell what input was yours and what was Diane's and as you must know, that is no small praise. I always gathered you were but now I know you are a great writer.

'Till whenever (if ever),

André

Negative-Z chapter 1 . 2/2/2002
That was rather sweet. I don't even like

Xmas but somehow I got sentimental anyway, of course I think I've complemented Krin on this phenomenon one too many times anyway.

;)
MaryM chapter 1 . 1/28/2002
If this is what happens when you two work together, you should do it much more often! Wonderful story, one of my favorites out of the Christmas contest. Nice characterization, and not over-done or heavy handed. Please keep up the good work!
