From the literary metaphors to the interwoven development of tenderness and acceptance between Orihime & Ulquiorra, I adore this story. I really liked the concept you created of Ulquiorra having a frightening, bestial appearance but also expressing the humanity he did not have back as an arrancar. Not many writers take the route you took so it was refreshing and believable to see him for what he really was and how that affected his interaction with Orihime. The ending scene was heartbreaking but also beautiful as Orihime comes to accept Ulquiorra by forgiving herself for her past failure. Overall, your writing was absolutely amazing and this is one of the very best fics I have enjoyed reading for this pairing. Thank you!

The idea was absolutely brilliant, I have yet to see anyone tackle from this perspective. [And it's even harder since you have no basis to pull from, so kudos to the characterization and interaction.]

The only thing I can woe is that it was not a full-blown multi-chapter - I mean, you could've brought us along the journey of his gradual transformation from a monster to a human (even though on the inside, he's more human now than anything).

But I guess, part of the charm of amazing one-shots is well... their one-shotness - leaving the readers satiated yet hungry for more~

Once in a while you encounter one of these rare pieces that makes you let out a small appreciative sigh at the end of it. This was one of those. So precious a fic this is. I always saw the potential love between these two as so much more than 'silky hair' and 'emerald eyes'. Star-crossed lovers indeed, and what a wonderful way in which you portrayed it. Thumbs up for the lack of fluff, and the sincerity of it all. AND for daring to be controversial, I must say. The problem with portraying Ulquiorra as 'Frankenstein's Monster' has always been that he is often portrayed like a total hottie at the same time. But you elegantly sidestepped this contradiction. Well done!

Wonderful story. I love the new perspectives and the unique way in which Ulquiorra came back; I also like the moon and hollow-hole analogy. It's really well-written, too, which is one of my must-haves for a good story. Great job!
