Water-please chapter 3 . 12/12/2012
LOL'ed at various times in this chapter - Love it!

Particularly the #frowns, touching the 500 scale. Great! Love also to see Jealous Jane, and a nonchalant Lisbon. *grins*
penefic chapter 5 . 4/20/2012
This is such clear, fine Jane voice. And such a charming perfect story. Spot on people I believe. So happy to read it
kawoosh chapter 5 . 3/9/2012
I really liked this!
Lothlorien Aeterna chapter 5 . 12/23/2011
Awesome!
alonglongtimeago chapter 5 . 2/8/2011
"Where was Grace and why wasn't she wearing something scanty today?"

That line made me laugh really hard.

This is a really good fic. Lisbon is so ignored in the show, I often wish she was considered a main character with Jane since she's just as interesting and in her own way just as skilled (though they have stopped showing that as much). You really showed that well. Thanks.
Avelynn Tame chapter 5 . 9/17/2010
This was an AMAZING story! I am such a Lisbon fan, but there are so few stories out there which give any kind of focus to her abilities. Even in the show I feel that she is sidelined in favour of Jane (of course), and actually, the other cast members too. I love the other characters, but so often I'm left thinking, 'why is Lisbon, who we've previously seen established as an excellent agent, no longer getting to demonstrate her skills? Why has she been reduced to snapping at Jane and occasionally taking part in directional dialogue?'

Sorry, I do like ranting. My point is, yours is one of the few stories which actually explores: a) Lisbon's skills as an agent; b) her attitude towards her job, and its consequences; c) other men and their opinion of Lisbon; and d) the tantalising idea that maybe - just maybe - Lisbon might have a life outside work!

All this, and it's actually well-written, not OOC, with a nice mix of humour and action. The Mentalist fic world needs far more of this kind of story.

I really loved it. I am curious - is Vie En Rose/Rose-Coloured Glasses intended to be a sequel? As the story (Red Herring) came to an end, I found myself dying to find out more about Lisbon's unseen bed partner, and - of course - dying to read about him and Jane meeting. Are you planning to write anything which covers this? (Just out of interest, of course - no pressure!)

Okay, I will leave my long and rambling review here, but I want to state again - this was an amazing story. I plan to read it again soon. Saving to favourites.
tromana chapter 5 . 7/18/2010
Oh this was a lovely, well-constructed case fic. I love original cases like this - especially like Buchanan and the fact it was Lisbon who managed to get the confession (with not exactly conventional methods.)
S.H. Briggs chapter 5 . 2/11/2010
written with wit, I see.

I love the use and placement of the line Jane has about jealousy being a very popular motive.
Cat chapter 5 . 1/15/2010
This is pretty damn awesome.

However, I need to know about Lisbon's mysterious ... buddy, almost as much as Jane does.

I liked how this story worked, and it's general feel, thanks for a really good read.
Jubilee7 chapter 5 . 1/12/2010
I loved your story! I've become recently addicted to The Mentalist, and, as usual, couldn't help myself but ship. I can't resist a strong woman and an utterly charming guy. Hence, first thing I did after having watched a couple of episodes was throw myself on to check out the stories. Van Pelt and Rigsby are so cute but Lisbon and Jane are a lot more interesting.

I really like your plot. I appreciate how you didn't let down on a coherent crime investigation just to get the 'Jisbon' going. And I loved Lisbon's interrogation!

I read Rose-Colored Glasses first, as I didn't know it was Red Herring's sequel, and I'm glad it is! I especially love the summary, because of course Jane couldn't simply make her understand he likes her, no, it has to be all drama and elaboration.

Thank you so much for such great stories, I'm eager to know what's going to happen!

Wish you all the best,

Jube
hardly loquacious chapter 5 . 11/24/2009
This is excellent. I love the whole story. Nice job. Very nice job. Particularly liked Lisbon in interrogation. I bet she'd be good at that.
vividDaydream chapter 5 . 11/23/2009
I loved this story. I liked that Lisbon has someone to go home to, at least some of the time, and that she's unapologetic about it.

I also liked Jane's slow progression in admitting his feelings to himself. A lot of people write him as though he's ignorant of his feelings, or that he's so caught up in his own personal turmoil that he doesn't have any feelings outside of that. I think this is more realistic, that someone who is so aware of others is also aware of his own emotions and motivations, even if he doesn't like having them.

Looking forward to your next story.
yaba chapter 5 . 11/23/2009
man this was such a kickass story! I loved their banter and jane's thoughts about Lisbon turning down Buchanan, I think you have a wonderful writing style and you know the characters well so it makes for really entertaining reading. You also have great word choice and the plot is excellent. I loved the interrogation. Kickass I can't wait for your next story :)

yaba chapter 4 . 11/23/2009
o i dont like this 'friend' lisbon has...bothersome thing, easily removed I hope? I think it's adorable that he let it go and she seemed surprised, we always think Jane will probe until he can't probe any longer, but this chapter was cool. Once again, your insight into Jane's mind...damn it's like watching him on screen, the mannerisms and thought process are so vivid and spot on :)
