Reviews for Hikaru no Ramen
Guest chapter 11 . 8/24
I like the way you wrote the story. The sentences are clean, and the messages are clear. It’s very good.
Guest chapter 9 . 8/24
I’m not sure why, but every time I read an AU fic with Hikaru went on a different road and didn’t become a pro until older, I feel kind of sad, especially when Sai is not around him anymore.
Guest chapter 6 . 8/24
Lol fate really did her thing setting up everything for Hikaru to become a pro.
Guest chapter 4 . 8/24
Ogata remains Ogata in any universe lol.
Guest chapter 3 . 8/24
I like how Hikaru is not a pro but still gains respect from many people for his Go skills.
L'archangel chapter 12 . 5/14
Thank you for sharing this wonderful story!
AniMeOtaKuKiNg chapter 3 . 1/13
What the use of flashback? We already watch the anime. Why can't you just continue write about Hikaru future life. I got bored when i read about his past life because i already know what he experience when watch the anime except when you make him choose a different route as his job
Hidari chapter 10 . 1/12
I've been reading several of the multi chapter fics that try to put a different spin on the HikaGo story. This is interesting. Only thing is, Hikaru is out of character. He's a friendly, loud and lovable airhead who plays a mean game of Go. That's not the case here. Anyway, still an okay read. Thank you for sharing!
NemaLynne chapter 1 . 12/7/2019
I don't know if you are still around, but I just wanted to say that I love this story. I am back to reread it today.
StoneTheLoner chapter 5 . 8/15/2019
All it took was the first few sentences of this chapter for me to nope out. I can't stand this version of Hikaru... Not only did he disappoint his only friend but his opinions were so shallow you've managed to toss them aside like they were nothing. He's entirely unlikable.
StoneTheLoner chapter 4 . 8/15/2019
Well this is headed in a boring direction. We've all already experienced the story where Hikaru goes pro. Once in the original, and then numerous times here in the world of fanfiction as well. What we haven't experienced is a novel ramen shop where pro's frequent and the customers are challenged with Go problems for icecream. You further developed that by implying this would be a more human story, one where the game itself took a backseat to people. You're A/N said you were only putting in a moderate amount of the game in your story because it wouldn't feel right for a Hikaru no Go story to have none. There was also some promise in the mystery of who Hikaru was and how this no-name ramen shop owner was able to stump pro's with his questions and analyze games like a peer. That's a genuinely good concept and you shouldn't have been so quick to railroad the story back onto the same old path everyone else uses. Not to mention Hikaru isn't the only one thinking it... Sai disappeared because he was stubborn and refused to go pro. Hikaru will become unlikable to me if that turned out to be for nothing much and all it took to change his mind was watching a fcking match irl. His reasons shouldn't be shallow since it's already cost someone their "life" so ffs don't let the thing that makes him go pro be THIS basic.

I might drop this soon :(
Yuu3 chapter 12 . 11/3/2018
Hey, wow. I really enjoyed reading this. Initially, I was more interesting in the present half of the story than the later half but towards the end, I really enjoyed reading all parts of the story. The present is an ongoing fun, but the past slowly build itself and I really, really liked how it ended on this final chapter. A new beginning, or the end of the beginning, kind of feel. 'As they say, the rest is history.' It gives a full circle feel and I really liked that. Thanks for writing and sharing this AU! It was interesting and fun to read.
laelruin chapter 12 . 4/2/2018
I've loved every second of this! I especially appreciated how each chapter was split up between the present and the relatable past. :) Fantastic craftsmanship.
Thank you for a wonderful, page turning story.

Viviene001 chapter 12 . 12/3/2016
It was fun to read this again...thanks for your hard work!:)
Guest chapter 2 . 6/11/2016
I came in reluctant, but the whole title concept was rather interesting in implementation. I half expected some sloppy future scenes where he wins in blindfold games of go while preparing orders something and was pleasantly surprised.
