Actually, while I didn't see that coming, since there were no hints of it, it didn't surprise me. I'm starting to get concerned that Shadow is a bit too overpowered for storytelling purposes.

I know that you haven't written anything related to Sonic in a couple of years, and haven't written anything related to this trilogy in far longer, but I would greatly like to see your trilogy completed. I really enjoyed reading your work, as well as the different twist that you gave to each added character, especially Tails. I know to not get my hopes up, but I still would love to see more of this trilogy.
