Oh my goodness, I just LOVE how you wrote both brothers in this! I came to the fandom late and wound up binge-watching seasons 1-12 so I didn't have the experience of having been in the fandom after S4 came out and wondering what would happen next. I've read a lot of Sam-positive fics written from that era, (I think yours is my favorite so far) and I've noticed that most of them were hoping that Dean would be understanding, that despite his general anger at the situation it would hit home to him that the both of them had been manipulated the whole time. Now, it seems to be an accepted fact within the larger fandom that "Dean was right the whole time!" and that apparently he had a right to blame the entire Apocalypse on Sam. It makes me wonder what it was like for the fandom back then when S5 started and everyone and their brother (literally) within the show were blaming Sam for most of it.
But reading fics like this are very cathartic, and even after all these years, they're still appreciated.

I loved this. I honestly kind of wish they’d done this in the show. It was so nice seeing the guys make things right. Nice seeing Dean be a little more understanding when he discovered that the angels had played them, and not leaving Sam to go through withdrawals alone. I liked the throwbacks to earlier episodes. Great story!

I've had your profile open all day, thanks to a link on Tumblr recommending your work, and after scrambling around, I finally had time to settle in and enjoy it. This was posted so long ago that I doubt this review even matters, but I wanted to thank you so much for writing this story. Your portrayals of the characters were all sensitive and complex, capturing not only their flaws but also their twisted self-perceptions.

As an unabashed fan of Sam, I'm in awe of this. So many works of fiction cast all of the less savory events of season four as Sam's fault. Your reference to the horrors of detox (and how neither time was with Sam's consent or even the basic care one should offer to a person undergoing withdrawal) almost made me stand up and cheer. I really like Dean, but the tendency within the fandom to ignore any mistakes he makes and shift the blame elsewhere has always bothered me.

This was the very best kind of fix-it, covering all those little things we, as viewers, wish the brothers would have done. Thanks for writing this. It was an amazing read.

I think this is my favorite tag to this episode. Your version is way more cathartic than just ending up on an airplane with no more affects from demon blood, that was way too anticlimactic and left me wanting more. This story is what I wanted!

I am in love with your perception of Sam, his perception of the way he feels about the whole ordeal, and of Dean and his drive to, as always, save his little brother.

Thank you for this wonderful story! I sure wish that you were one of the writers for the show because you did this SO much better than they did! I love the way you showed that Sam was really no more flawed than any of them and that the angels and demons were the real culprits for the whole apocolypse. I hated the way they made Sam seem so evil, when he really wasn't at all. Your story was fantastic and it was so great to see how you got the guys together again and really understanding each other again.
