Nice, innocent, naive story. Feels improbable, but at the same time also good most of the time. Well, I just read Terminator Retribution by Enigma6482, which deals with the same events in a totally opposite way, so currently I may be a bit jaded. Still, I'm enjoying the present story a lot, and gladly recommend it to all tscc fans.

Well, the story seems okay so far, but there is a lack of details. People act a little bit unrealistically. And I don't buy the whole "This timeline wouldn't exist" theory, because it doesn't make any sense. It creates lots of paradoxes.
If that were the case, John wouldn't exist, because he wouldn't send Kyle to the past. (Time Machine from "Back to the Future" works like this.

There are two realistic ways of time travel without paradoxes:
1. the past can't be changed - all changes are already there. (Harry Potter's time turners)
2. the past of the timeline can't be changed - any change creates a parallel universe, which would coexist with the first one. (Terminator' TDE)
