Seriously, you did a fantastic job with these characters and I'm so happy you wrote this. You told just enough to make it wonderful and kept enough back to keep it from getting bogged down. I am going to go instantly and read more of your fics, and I so hope there's more mass effect ones.

I just re-read the story for the first time since you wrote it, and really: well done.

Was the apologetic soldier Russian because Jump Zero was named after Gagarin? This story is more complex, original and carefully tied-into the game than I've given it credit for.

Amazing story!

I love this story. It was incredibly dark, and I can definitely see where you drew inspiration from "Ender's Game". This story was difficult for me to read; I would start reading and get sucked in, and then have to take a break because some of the subject matter was, umm, difficult to process - but in a good way.

This was a fantastic take on BAaT. I love that you didn't shy away from scary topics, like child death, just dealt with them straight-on and then dealt with the consequences to the characters. I thought your characterizations were very realistic, and I felt a connection to the other kids, as well as to Kaidan.

I also enjoyed the shippy bits; having the background to them, especially the final scene in Shepard's quarters, made them very emotional.

All-around an excellent piece. Thanks for sharing it.

yes, it was dark.. but something I would look for and almost expect in a story related to Kaidan's er.. "upbringing".

But really. great job! You gave those kids such personality it was easy to get sucked in. By the time you get to the second to last chapter, reading the words "you make me feel human again" its just so heartbreaking knowing where he came from. I skimmed through this fic before I thouroughly read it. And so I went through the second to last chapter with Shepard before I truly read while those lines had always meant something to the situation and Kaidan's character, reading that chapter and those lines after reading the whole story just made such a difference (which is, I'm sure what you were looking for).

Love it! adding to my faves for sure :)

What a way to end a great story. Me liking this story so much isn't the only reason why I give it so much praise. Even when I completly distance myself from it, the writting style, inter action between characters and the story structure are truly outstanding.

The way how you make the epilogue and prologue intertwine is just brilliant, especially the way you give every character a little attention. It gives the reader a chance to remember the one more time before the story is finished.

Personally I really don't believe there is was a better way to end the story, also taking in acount the seperation of the blue team after their liberation. Everything is done in the best way possible. You must either have great tallent, or have worked very hard on it all. Most likely it's a combination of both. I really want to thank you out of the depth of my heart for writting this great story. I loved every piece of it, and I'll always cherish it.

I've already read this story, so I knew what would happen this chapter. But still it's causes a river of tears on my face. I feel the sorrow almost if it was my own.

You've written it so well, that I can barly enjoy it. The story is very dark, and because it pulls me in so deeply it truly depresses me. It's painfull to read, but to beautiful not to do so.

I'll stop reading here. I've read the first 7 chapters staight after each other, but I know what happense in the eight one, and I don't wanna go to bed depressed. So it'll be for another day.

If I had not read this story before that last part:

"In his bunk, Kaidan repeated his teacher’s words over and over in his mind. The tears in his eyes told him that watching what happened to Billy would be with him the rest of his life. But as the weeks began to fall away from Jump Zero, Kaidan looked back at all that he had endured and realized, to his horror, just how truthful Branson could be."

Would have made me want to read the entire story without pause. A perfect way to end a chapter. It's not a cliffhanger, because the chapter is really closed. Still it makes you want to know what happens next.

I'm so happy I can review this. I thought I already did so, and that I couldn't do so again. I know I've already complimented you several times. But I really can't stop doing so. Your writting skills are incredible, making every sentence a joy to read. I can not think of any better way to tell a story like this, nor can I think of any story better then this.

Truly it's a work of immense quality. And even though it's your own choice, I would considere it a waste if you never write something like this. Your other works are fine too, but for me they can't measure up to this one.

A few days ago a friend of mine asked me what was my favorite literature work. And today I realized this is it(And I've read a lot). I still remember and love the part when the children eat the self-made birthday cake. I now feel the deperate need to reread this all over again.

Out of every fanfic of every different game/anime/show this is my absolute top. I was always so interested in Jump Zero and what Kaiden went through that this was just like a dream. I'm glad I read this. Even if I read so much before this my eyes are BURNING.
