That was amazing!

This was a lovely story, and well written. One suggestion though - thoughts shouldn't be in normal double quotes (or single quotes either) so would suggest putting thoughts in italics. It would help especially when you have a character speak then show his thoughts, we don't realize it's his thoughts till we read the "he thought" dialogue tag afterwards. The chapter where Ren develops a voice in his head is hilarious.

Though to be honest, I didn't like the story so much near the end. Story was developing so wonderfully and I loved all chapters till Ren runs out on Kyoko (after kissing, apologizing then dumping her) that was head-bangingly awful of Ren. Also, could've just been me but the ending felt very lacking. After all that drama/angst, there's no fluff…at all! :( We only see Kyoko scolding Ren into eating before he goes out. (yes a few things implied, we're guessing they're now dating, and Ren may propose soon but too subtle).

What was a bit surprising was that from your summary, I'd expected this whole plan to have been concocted by Kuu, aided by Lory, so I'd expected a lot more of Kuu but Kuu only enters on phone calls at beginning and end and had nothing to do with the whole scheme which was a bit puzzling. I thought that final call at the last chapter would show how Kuu'd been in on this. It seems Lory's in on it but only appears in a call once (he admirably keeps himself away! lol) and it's really all both managers and later Moko and Yashiro. I loved you giving Kyoko a manager (lovely OC) and her and Yashiro plotting away. Both best placed and did a good job. But later her manager seems to disappear and it's more of Moko and Yashiro which was a bit iffy cuz Kanae seemed forced into the story. Her going with Yashiro to the wedding's great but her in that movie was weird. Kyoko and Ren are fine, they're 18 and 21 here - Private and Lieutenant. But Moko's even younger than Ren, she's like 19-20 here, and making her this older captain just jarred me out of the story. She should've just been out of that movie altogether lol. Bit too obvious that the author wanted her in everything (KyoRen's movie/private lives) to keep pushing them together which would be fine had it been another movie but considering this is war movie, and many more men than women (esp JP) would've felt like pushing it even if Moko had been another private like Kyoko but to make the very young Kanae as captain was just unbelievable. Sorry, while everyone's complimenting how good Moko acted, I felt the story bubble burst then and started feeling it was a bit silly XD

Personally, if Moko was kept out of the movie, and the ending had a good closure with some good fluff to balance out all that drama, this would've been perfect. Still it was enjoyable and you write very well. Thanks for sharing. (BTW thanks for not focusing on Yashiro x Moko here!)

I love how you capture Ren's maturity when he tells her to calm her co-star down. and the improvisation of the scene with the falling to the knees was great. loving this story so far.

I know you wrote this story seven year ago, so it might seem silly of me to leave a review for it. But I try to leave reviews for those stories that I really, really loved reading. Your story was very enjoyable. It was funny and clever and adorable. You have excellent prose and great pacing. You made me interested in the side plots like YashiroxKanae and the script of Duty Binds Us.

You likely have no plans to venture into a fandom you wrote in back in '09, but I'm just saying, this is probably my favorite story in the Skip Beat fandom. Great job, and I hope you have as much success in your future endeavors, writing or otherwise, as you did with this story.
