Wow, that was a shock. I had tears in my eyes at the end of it. But it does make sense- I agree with you, even if he did have feelings for Ernst, Hänschen would never have let the relationship develop into anything.

One random thing I loved was Melchior looking at Wendla as he said "women of good carriage" even though he had no idea she was pregnant... how horribly ironic for her.

All in all, great story!

I like the was Hanschen acts, he is the type who would not talk about his feelings. And I like that Ernst finds comfort in his faith and the bible.

Oh, I like this story SO much! Truly I do. I read it a while back, and I just found it again tonight and I realized I did not review, so I am amending that.

I think Ernst is so sweet and I love his attempts to decipher what Hanschen's feelings are for him, exactly. The notes on the script was adorable, and I love how he reflected that Someone loved him, he just wasn't sure if it was Romeo or Hanschen. Their stories are paralleling so well (I don't think parallel is really ever a verb, but anyways)- forbidden love and whatnot. I never would've compared R&J's doomed love to Hanschen and Ernst's, but it's really working out and making sense and fitting so well.

I really enjoyed the mentionings of Melchior/Wendla you've thrown in, because it all makes sense- what with Mercitio's innuendos and puns and double entendres, I'm sure Melchior enjoyed that role very much. I love the focus of the story because I simply adore Ernst/Hanschen fics, but the glimpses we get of Melchior are so in character and so amusing.

I find this especially interesting to read because last summer I played Juliet in a production of R&J. Oh, that my Romeo had been Hanschen! He was... different than I had expected him to be, and we only met on the first day of rehearsal so it was embarassingly awkward, plus I didn't know how to kiss... ok, I'm getting seriously sidetracked here. I'm very sorry about that.

I know you must be busy, but I really hope that you're still working on this and update soon.
