Reviews for Ginny Returns
Guest chapter 16 . 7/5
The fun thing is, that Ron, no matter how much ou show him as a pathetic looser, is a far better man, than you could ever hope to be.
X.pix.X chapter 17 . 7/6
Brilliant story, loved it
Confused chapter 16 . 5/24
In most ways, this story is great; I just don't understand Sirius' character at all. This is very AU, so I understand that characters can be different, but in your other ANs you implied that Sirius was supposed to be the same character as in canon. Why is he so formal and traditional? Sirius' entire character is based on the fact that he went against traditions and didn't want to be confined. Having him try to arrange a marriage and teach Harry etiquette is antithetical to all of his values. I skipped over so many cringy and out-of-character scenes involving him.
Guest chapter 17 . 5/8
"Tristan James Potter," Harry said as if tasting it. "It will be pretty hard to shorten,"

Is this supposed to be a joke?

Tizzy
Trissy
To
Jimmy
Jaime
Potty
Potter
Or just kids picking something unflattering and running with it.

Any name can be shortened. Or, if not, lengthened.
Guest chapter 15 . 5/8
The treatment of Ron here is just...

I mean, yeah, his reaction was over the top. No question. But he's being blamed, and punished, because someone who identifies with a group of people their while family is practically predisposed to hate insulted him to his face the same way he's always treated by that group. And there's zero repercussions for Blaize and, as a matter of face, he gets everything he could have wanted from the exchange.

If someone wearing a white hood goes up to a black guy and tells them that they're so happy to see them in polite society for once, nobody's going to be surprised if it's not taken well. And nobody's going to blame the black guy.

I sure as hell don't blame Ron.

Loved it
DeadFish37 chapter 8 . 4/11
Probably no Egyptian holiday, so no reason for Black to escape? Just putting this guess here so I know I've made it.

I especially loved how Snape's 'semi-believable' redemption began - with getting bitten on the butt (twice!) by a big ol' poisonous snake, followed by a pretty clear 'shape up or ship out [possibly feet first in a coffin]' letter. It takes a LOT to get Snape to pull his head out of his posterior, and that seemed like an excellent start. :)

Urgh, yet another fic that botches time turners. As you yourself note, time turners do not change the past. Everything the user(s) do after transit happens the first time around-eg, Harry's patronus. Ginny's argument that Harry and Hermione went back despite not knowing what happened is completely besides the point-since a time turner user is restricted to making sure that the events they perceive pre-transit as their pre-transit self, there's actually less pressure on them the less they know-in order to redo her life with a time turner, Ginny would have to recreate all of her life's events exactly as they appeared to herself for her past self. Her insistence that Hermione prove a negative is irrelevant to the situation at hand. Speaking of, Hermione doesn't argue against Ginny's misconceptions about time travel the way someone who knows enough about time turners to use them safely for an entire school year should. The inability to change past events as past selves experienced them is the first thing she should have brought up, not logistical issues like the limited range and power. That's not even getting into how Hermione folds like a wet napkin against Ginny's asinine argument that not being able to change past events precludes the existence of time turner-once again, everything a time turner user does after transit happens the first time around! It's especially aggravating because Ginny claims to have left behind the idea of time turners at this point-she's essentially asking Hermione to come up with a wholly different type of time travel that's vastly more powerful than time turners-and instead of arguing against the gargantuan task that Ginny asks of her, Hermione instead chooses to argue as if they're both still talking about time turners!
I'm not just pointing out this stuff to be nitpicky. First impressions are important, especially for fics that are novel-length. It doesn't bode well for the rest of the story if an author showcases their fundamental misunderstanding of one of the simplest time travel mechanics in the first chapter of their story.

I liked this. Her POV is something new to me. Wish I would have seen a heavy amount of Luna.
Specky Clarke chapter 17 . 10/18/2019
A really excellent story, a joy to read.
Khatix chapter 3 . 9/30/2019
Ginny should arrange an accident for Snape, he is the MAIN reason there are so few Auror's, Healers, and other jobs that need Potion NEWT's. Dumbledore had to pull strings with the OWL/NEWT testing committee in the Ministry because its impossible for them to not realise the massive drop in grades and qualifications.
Beauty Eclipsed chapter 17 . 9/13/2019
Absolutely enjoyed reading this!
