You've picked a tough subject for this story. The question Sam asked Dean is one I'd like to hear them discuss, and the answer I imagine Dean would give would be something like Yes and No. I mean, who would actually go back to Hell and suffer through all of that? But then, if he didn't, he would be separated from Sam, perhaps for good, and I'm not sure he'd handle that any better than Hell. Actually, if you think about it, he lasted thirty years of personal torture in Hell followed by ten years or torturing others (his own mental torture). He didn't even last a day after Sam died...

Anyway. Good story.

I love how you leave this so open-ended... would he do it all again withe the benefit of hindsight? You know, I have my doubts...
