Excellent in the quietly tragic way you'd expect.

I liked this, I thought you captured Bruce very well, and it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one who still write stories focused on Bruce/Batman after the release of TDK. Good work! Oh, by the way, I think this works well as a oneshot, I think it keeps some of the mystery that way. Should you wish to continue it, you definitely could, but in my opinion it works well as is. That's my opinion, anyway.

I usually read reviews before I read a story, but reviews are tricky little bastards, so it's only once awhile that the reviews prove to be right.

This is perfect as it is, but can it handle a sequel and a possible romance? There's a challenge for you, should you choose to accept it.

This is amazing! It's not only beautifuly written, wonderfully expressed with perfect discriptions and good grammar, but it's very interesting and an almost genious way to dive into Bruce's emotions and thoughts. Very believable.

I see very few stories, one shots and sagas, in this or any fandom that are this perfect. I give you two thumbs WAY up for one of the best stories I've read all week.

First review! Nice job with this. I liked how angsty and self-loathing Bruce is in this one. I too agree with your opinion on the stories found for Batman Begins. I'm not exactly sure if this is the kind of stories that you talked about disliking, but for me I don't like how every other story is either a Joker/Rachel, Joker and Own Character, or Bruce and Own character story. I also don't like the various Joker/Batman and Gordon/Batman slash. There are way too many stories like that. Also the Joker origin stories get to me. It gets really annoying after awhile. Bruce always falls for a girl who finds out his identity and blablabla! Pleease, in my opinion, Bruce isn't the type to settle down, just yet. The Joker falls in love with some random girl who is eccentric or is from his past. I don't ever picture the Joker falling in love for real with another human being, it'd have to be fake. That's why those are just plain lousy to me. People really need to get more original. Yes I am blabbing, but I'm just comparing your good angst to the usual cliches found. I loved yours since it had that sprinkle of angst and character study I desire in a story. It shows just how much Bruce has changed and how difficult it is to put the playboy facade. I like how you added the part where he insulted himself and wonders if his own accusation is true. Self-doubt rocks for angst. Batman may seem invincible, but in the inside he is still human. You should definitely write more! This place needs more angst and originality! I wonder who the girl is though. Write another!
