I was howling with laughter at Azula Losing To Kuei in a game he did not know he was playing

I love how Azula and co. think Kuei is messing with them, but he's genuinely clueless as to why they're here. I giggle just thinking about it.

Enjoyed reading this. If you ever pick it back up I'll be sure to keep reading. The way you switched the pov between Sokka and Mai worked out really well. The main criticism I had was how little time is spent on Sokka reuniting with his family. Lived the bit where Katara realizes she doesn't really know Sokka but wanted more of that. Still am not disappointed to have read this, though. Thanks for writing this

Mai's internal commentary is actually the best thing! Your Mai has to be one of my favourite in fanfiction!

Your characterisation is amazing! You write both Sokka and Mai so well, they're both extremely in-character whilst you still manage to accommodate for the changes in their past! And both character's POV are a joy to read from, I love the way you have set out this story!
Also, I usually wouldn't read Ty Lokka, but the way you've justified it through the alternative path their lives have taken, I find myself actually shipping it in this story.
Finally, the whole story and plot is written in a reasonable and realistic manner, along with your writing being engaging throughout.
Thank you for this wonderful AU, they're hard to come by (especially with Maiko, those are rare)!

You have a very interesting and witty writing style. I can't wait to look into some of your other works.

I like your policy of having at least one Terry Pratchett reference per chapter (taxes or lack thereof, famous last stands, gilt, etc.).

I like the Discworld references, and the taxes thing fit in fairly well, although I see why you had to alter the ending. I understand the darker parts work better for the general tone, but I'd probably stop reading this if the jokes stopped.

I really like the Mai sections, especially the strange description of Agni in this one.

Well, it wasn't as bad as I thought and, unsurprisingly, it was well written. I wonder what, if any view you will take on Ty Lee's thing with auras.

You stole the "named meat" joke from Terry Pratchett. Seems like a good chapter, but I suspect that you are going to have more angst than I would have preferred.

The last chapter wasn't that interesting, but this one at least had some nice antics.
