Sad and very interesting.
Crack-jouchan chapter 1 . 8/14/2017
T-this is beautiful, oh god... no matter how many times I read it I still break up in tears. It's so beautiful because it's tragic. And it's so, so true. It's dreams and wishes and wants meeting cold, cruel reality.

I love your UlquiHime fics. Angsty as heck, but dang if I don't find them beautiful. Especially the narrative style. The way it captures the small, important moments, that eventually come to define their relationship. It's perfect. Absolutely perfect.
Jeffy Iha chapter 1 . 10/18/2016
Wow, it's so beautiful... and painful. I love your fic, it's wonderful.
Kuroneko-sama07 chapter 1 . 5/19/2016
Wow, I can't believe this was posted 8 years ago and I'm just now finding it, but I'm so glad I did because this was truly an amazing Ulquihime piece - one of the best one-shots I've read for this pairing. I really enjoyed their conversations in this story and they seemed very plausible to me and true to character. I also loved the whole bit at the end when they were talking about carrying each other, and when Ulquiorra told her that she can't carry him, ugh it was just so perfect! :') You really captured a part of their relationship that is so bittersweet but so captivating to me! I think Orihime does try to carry her friends' problems all on her shoulders and she takes it on herself to try to fix things, and I really think she was trying to do this a bit with Ulquiorra in the series as well. But she couldn't, he cannot be carried or "fixed", just because of the very nature of his being. And Ulquiorra knew that he had no place in her world; I really believe that even in canon, he grew to care about her in his own way and really did want her to be able to go on and live her life in the end. So, they had to let each other go, just as you illustrated in this story.

Anyway, this is all just my interpretation and I really didn't mean to start analyzing their relationship in the middle of this review, but this story just got me really thinking about all this! Ulquihime is one of those pairings that's just so interesting to think about, so I love when I find a good fic like this one that gets me pondering these characters. :) And you write beautifully! Your writing style in this was so simple and yet you somehow were able to convey so much. You did an awesome job and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this!
Guest chapter 1 . 2/25/2016
Yet again, speechless.
143Maid-sama chapter 1 . 4/18/2015
It was a really sad and lovely story..like "Through the Endless Sands". It was filled with emotions and the characters were so in character that I felt that this really happened in the anime and manga. I was touched by everything they've said, I cannot help but believed it,too.. You are a great writer!

Though, I must admit..can you please explain to me what happened in the ending I did not quite get it. :D
29th.spirit chapter 1 . 3/17/2015
Beautiful writing! Your take on Ulquiorra could actually explain why he is serving Aizen. So basically Ulquiorra is an anarchist? No rules and freedom for everybody? It's an interesting take on, although I find it a little hard to imagine he actually cares enough for such things as freedom. But since I don't have any better explanation for his loyalty towards Aizen, I am in no place to complain

I didn't really get the ending. I understand Ulquiorras reasoning about 'holding on too much', but why can't Hime hold onto him too? Because eventually he will have to fight those dear to her? That doesn't mean her heart isn't big enough to reach out to both sides, does it? She will get hurt either way. Or was it because he feared burdening her future? The woman is stronger than that! Of course she can 'carry' you, if that means accepting you even though you are the enemy. For she is the rain that connects the worlds, is she not?

"Mostly though, she had her world intact. She had a future again. That was a gift he had given her that could never be replaced.
Save one.
But she thanked him for that part too."
Now this part I really don't understand. Could someone please clarify?

Overall it was a beautiful and fresh approach on my favourite pairing. Thanks for sharing this little gem!
