GUESYi likes this story! I wish you continued on with it but it is still awesome. I love the boys thought process on Batman being better than Superman. Though, some of the things he said I have know, but it has been more of a back of the mind thing, but this comparison brings it to life and really forces you to think about them. Yeah we know in the back of out minds about perfection and imperfection however in this it is spelled out and manipulated into an interesting concept. I don’t know if that makes any sense but regardless I enjoyed your story and keep up the good work!

That would be a very interesting discussion. May I ask you to write it?

I super enjoyed reading this little story, made a huge smile appear on my face. :D

Let me tell you why... Tim Drake is my favourite Robin (he's actually my absolute fav DC character hands down), but I like both Batman and Superman pretty much equally. The argument that you had Tim overhearing was basically one I had with a few ppl a few years back, and I was championing Bats. My argument was basically that as a 'normal' human he had trained himself to such a degree that he could keep up with the various 'powered' heroes and that his force of personality could actually manage to overpower or overawe the egos he regularly worked with, even Superman, and to me that just meant he was the better hero. Now I have to admit I love and never would have thought of the imperfection is actually perfection thing, but yeah - it's so true.

I would totally love to have a sequel to this, but with Tim feeling nice and awkward out with Dick, Clark and 'Brucie' and all four overhearing the same argument somewhere, like one of those society dinners...

thanks so much for sharing and keep penning,
Marns

I never really thought about it like that, but that makes such perfect sense! Thanks for writing!

If my two cents are worth anything, I'll say Batman won. But not because of Superman's "perfection". Both are very different and awesome in their own right. Batman is just simply cooler. I love the Bat because even though he's dark and scary his heart is in the right place and he's a big softy inside. His big crazy, dysfunctional family (that he chose) is proof of that.

Batman! Batman! Batman!
Lol

Wow. Ya know, I don't think I ever really thought about it like that. I *like* Superman *because* of the way that no matter what life throws at him, he's always cheerful, happy and helps people no matter how frustrated he gets. But yeah, the fact that besides his home planet being blown up (before he even knew about Krypton) and the fact that he is one of the last of his race...he hasn't had a lot of bad things happen to him. If he had seen his parents killed in front of him, like Bruce, would be able to go on being as happy and helpful as he is?
I don't know the answers but it gives me a lot more respect for them both. (Batman is my second fav character, followed by Damian and Nightwing)

Awesome in depth thinking. New ideas and cool tought process. Clear idea that got pass nicely too. Those that don't get it are probably idiots. Great job!

well timmy shouldnt be so bothered...superman has batman to balance out his meager knowledge in anything dark and traumatic and batman gets supermans optimism and brightness to balance out all his dark gloom

it all works out with the finest duo XD

What a lovely story...my class had this argument before...Batman won.
Anon chapter 1 . 6/14/2012
Nice argument, but I disagree Batman gets into the suit because he is flawed, yeah that means that he understands pain, but that also means that he wants to help people because in a way that is his way of helping himself, and that could be a selfish motive.

I also think the argument that Batman has suffered pain is valid, but someone could also argue that because he has suffered he will always either be able to say "well this sucks for you, but you should see my life" and to think that someone else's suffering doesn't compare to his own, or that he dealt with pain, but the things the victims endure are beyond what he himself experienced. Their pain will never be equal.

Superman on the other hand leads a "perfect" life, yet he goes out everyday and tries to save others. Batman wants to punish criminals because he wasn't able to punish the ones who hurt him, Superman wants to save people so that they can lead lives as happy as his own.

I do agree that Superman's abilities make him too perfect, but his character is what balances that out. Of all the heroes, I think he feels each hurt and each pain that the victims he saves endure, *because* he knows that he *can't* be hurt, and he wishes that others had the same luxury.

Ooof. That younger kid that was rooting for Batman didn't know what he was talking about in the ending. If he said that something dark in your past happened, then you weren't happy go lucky... he hasn't met dear Dickie-bird. Seriously, despite everything, that kid still manages to hold on to the good things in life and enjoy them.

But I still think Batman wins in a logic battle of Batman vs Superman. Bats just rocks. Especially Dickie-bird.
