I believe the decision to leave must have been because Sam's condition was beyond him and the Autobots' ability to cope, and he knew that only soundwave could help him. I like your portrayal of them, they fight only based on 'love'. I really like Soundwave's family. They love and protect each other. Soundwave knows how to comfort each of his "children". As we said at the end, Cybertron is gone, the Allspark is gone, and now the only reason to fight is for each other, for family.

I loved how you showed Soundwave's group to be so close, without losing any of their twisted origin.

I can't help but hope that Stockade's initial questioning coupled with Sam's automatic loyalty to loved ones over propaganda will take root and spread. Both sides of the war are stuck in a rut. Cybertron is dead and so is the All Spark - time to change the game.

I liked how Sam was more sparkling than any other NewBot, due to his reprogramming. Ravage was, of course, the most adorably violent older sister in creation.

I loved the twist where Sam walked out - entirely willingly or not - because his abilities were growing beyond his ability to cope and nobody noticed.

Very awesome story in very many ways.

This story had so many wonderful elements. First of all, I love that there aren't simply good guys and bad guys. That the reason for the fighting is to protect family. There is such a strong sense of that among Soundwave's symbiots. While I'm disturbed Soundwave would reprogram others without a choice, I also see some gray areas in him. Was the femme who became Ravage forgotten by the Autobots? Doomed to die? If so, perhaps he did the right thing. On the other hand, stealing someone's memories just seems cruel.

Yet the Autobots are not without fault, and Prowl clearly shows. My hope is that someone the sense of family that Sonar/Sam shares with members of both factions can overcome factions. It seems the only thing that offers any hope for a war that they keep fighting despite there no longer being any reason to fight.

I'd love to see this story continue (like so many of yours). Great work!

A really good but sad story.

Is there any chance of this story continuing? I'm very interested to know about why Sam/Sonar went to Soundwave the day he was supposedly kidnapped. Even more so, the whole story, characters and attention to detail is amazingly well done, that it has me waiting for more.

This story was a pleasant surprise. I just read it all the way through, and I really appreciate the originality and complexity. I especially like how you've made it so that there is really no "bad" side. The 'cons aren't exactly evil are they? And the 'bots aren't perfect, because they can be rather blind. Overall, a real pleasure. Is there any chance of future sequels? You've definitely left it open for that.

This was a very bittersweet story with it's themes of family ties running through. I hope in the future the war can come to a ceasefire for Sonar's sake and he'll become friends Bumblebee and Mikeala again.
