Written with a touching style, I adore Mai's introspection. It's interesting that you pointed out that Ty Lee is the most powerful of the three, and I also liked it when Mai feels like love is both flying and falling.

But wow, that was INTENSE, and so beautiful. Everything was utterly IC, and you've shown this overwhelming emotion that she doesn't show in Avatar, simply because she doesn't display it here.

I can't really say more than beautifully, intensely IC.

The relationships and your portrayal of them are wonderful, too. The Zuko/Mai, the new emotion that their relationship brings her (and how she's feeling overwhelmed by them), is so *right*, the Mai & Azula fear/respect/hate relationship, Ty Lee's optimism...

I'm not really a Maiko fan, but this is too beautiful not to fave. I love the writing style - all the focus was on the emotion. Not the plot or the characters themselves.
