Hmmm, I thought I reviewed this, but I guess I didn't. I really liked this story and how Raph and Splinter bonded. It was so sweet. I especially liked how Splinter wants to see why Don knows all about mezcal and worms. Something tells me Don's been a bad little Turtle. Nicely done on this, Cyn.

Oh I adored this! Great interaction between Splinter and Raph. I really liked how Splinter kept changing the subject from sad times to make sure Raph had a good Birthday.

The Light Of Reason

I really enjoyed this story. I love how Splinter is both loose and wise all at the same time, and Raph is both gruff as we expect and warm to his mentor. That and it's funny, sweet and charming all at the same time! The end is wonderful, a great little one shot.

And Splinter's planning for the next morning was entertaining too... Especially his "investigation"...

I'm not too sure about the wording in that line, though. "Donatello’s all too familiarity"...wouldn't it work better without the "all too" there?

Wow. Splinter seemed out of character, giving raphie more alcohol when he was so far gone, but the whole 'I'm a grown up now' was so cute! Like a three year old insisting that he was a big boy. And the part with Splinter getting finicky about Don's actions (really Don's not so much younger. In the comics he's older than Raph, actually.). It's odd that the same father who's telling Raph to have another drink over and over is then wondering about Don's experience with alcohol. Oh, is it because Donnie hasn't been properly introduced to it with daddy's say-so like Raph was being "introduced for the first time" in this fic? That would make some sense. I'd like to see how that plot point unfolds. :)

I would be nice to see a fic about Donnie (teenage Donnie) getting busted by his dad for something like experimantal drinking. That boy's curiosity is darling, and creates so much story potential! You're fics tend to favor Donnie first and Mikey second (which I love, btw), but rarely do you have fics that focus on Donnie getting into serious trouble with Splinter over something. There's 'Ghosts' and he gets punished in that sometimes, but that's still primarily focused on Leo's punishment and Mikey's mourning.

I think it would be really fantastic to read a fic by you that involves Donnie specifically getting into trouble and then spending a few chapters on how Donnie handles it and how the father-son dynamic fluxuates during that time. I know he's Don and he's a wonderful child, but you did awesome things with Leo's character in "ghosts" and I think it would be really neat to see your take on Don, just because your parent-child dynamic writing is so wonderful and you're expecially in-tune with Donnie's character and might see best how him getting busted for something would change him, especially if the punishment was for something that he really wanted to continue doing, or does continue to do in secret.

I just woke up, and no more than five minutes after browsing the internet, this alert popped up; and just FYI "Hamtaro sensei" almost literaly sent my hot coffee out of my nose- ROFLMAO! (And regarding Raph's surprise at April's 'offer' I figure the thought didnt even cross his mind, LOL!)

Raph was so adorable! And Splinter seemed to try to let him just have some peaceful entertainment; the use of 'daddy' here just made me squee! XD; doesnt sound very grown up, but never stops being adorable! XD;

I like the fact that every time Raph started to wallow about Splinter's grey fur, sensei would quickly change the subject or distract him somewhow; (aside the fact that he knew how to drink tequila, he just- messed up on purpose, just so Raph would show him how? Aw! ) Hee~ Raph will be ready for a handover and lots of teasing, but as long as he had fun~

I am currently sitting by my computer with some bad muscular pains from my last work out and I read this: “Born fre... as free as the wind blows...” My stomach is killing me from laughing so hard. Who knew a drunk Raph could be so funny.
