Wow, this is such a smart, subtle piece of writing. I love the way you superimpose the two different versions of Peter and Edmund here - their young, boarding-school selves vs. the "two tall and bearded men" they were in Narnia. Casting it through the fencing-master's eyes created a lot of suspense, as well as very different style of fanfic. Wonderful work.

Beautiful writing. I don't know what it is about this piece; perhaps it's the way it's styled and written, or maybe something deeper. Regardless, I get this sense of nostalgia and longing, the same feelings that the siblings are going through. Hahaha, or maybe I'm looking too deeply into things. Anyway, this was well written and I love the exchange, the lack of visible information, even though the brothers and the readers are in on the joke. A part of me wishes that there was a continuation, but the brevity of this story is what really clinches the entire premise together.
