Hello, first of all, thank hou for this great story. Then, I don't know if you already wrote the deaf Dean story, but I think it's better for him to be healed from deaf than the blindess. Because for the hunt he will be able to hear very clearly more things than other hunters. But, if he can't hear his brother scream if he's in danger or to warn him, it will be dramatic.

Just finished your story "Sensory Perception". Well done. I enjoyed the tiny case, the driving blind (I've got a buddy that's still trying to get me to let him drive my car) and the comradely between the Winchesters and Bobby. You did pretty well with the eye surgery. My mother had a corneal transplant and though it wasn't an overnight stay, the bandages came off in hours, not days, I liked the way you handled it because it was nice and soap opera dramatic. Her sight was still correcting itself for the next couple of years but I decided to put that down to Dean's relative youth and good health (my mother is 85). At the time you wrote the story it was a more experimental technique, but has rapidly become common day surgery what with the advancement of laser surgery and micro-stitching. Really nice job on the banter, the feels and the classic Winchester avoidance techniques. Thanks for posting

It may have taken me a while, but I wanted to say thanks for sharing your story with us.

I just finished reading this one. What a beginning with an injured Dean and worried Sam. I loved Sam's determination to find a way to help his brother.

I could understand Dean wanting to hide out in the motel room and why in frustration Sam left his brother alone, but it was also nice that Sam really couldn't leave Dean, standing outside the window watching him.

Sam did a good job of taking care of Dean, making sure items were moved off the floor and everything, though not sure why, though I guess it would have embarrassed Dean to mention he needed to work on his bathroom skills. Did he ever get better at Bobby's?

Of course I was happy that the brothers went to Bobby's. I love how Bobby cares about 'his' boys. I loved the addition of Dante, so glad that Dean had someone to help him and someone he could talk too. Dean seemed to do well helping Bobby with the cars, so I guess if Dean could never hunt again, he might be able to help Bobby with mechanics.

It was nice that Sam found a spot so Dean could drive the Impala, it helped him feel better.

I could see Sam finding a hunt, thinking it would simple and than Dean not wanting his little brother to go alone. It was a good thing Dean went, though I think it really showed that Dean couldn't be a hunter anymore. He really couldn't watch Sam's back on the hunt. I imagine Dean would have still helped on the research. Though I did like the scene of Dean still being the big brother, driving the Impala with an injured Sam directing him, so they could get to help.

Also it must have been fate, because with Sam being in the hospital, Dean's blindness attracted the attention of another doctor and he was able to get the corrective surgery.

The hospital scene after the surgery was great and I love that Dean was able to see again. :) Perfect moment when Sam was the first person he saw after the bandages were taken off. It was a little rough when the brothers were arguing at Bobby's after arriving home from the hospital, but they did work things out so they could leave a couple of days later.

I enjoyed reading your story.

I read your author notes; you are going to post your deaf Dean story and alternate ending to "Retribution". I'm sure you will find a way to let Dean be a deaf hunter, but if the Dean we know was deaf, the show wouldn't be about the two brothers, because Sam would have died in the first episode, no phone call about the lady in white, Dean would never have known Sam was in trouble. Sorry. It's just I usually picture the brothers we know from the show as I read, think how story would work as an episode. I'll have to wait again until you have finished to read it. Though I won't be able to read the other, Dean permanently a quad, sounds depressing and I can't picture a happy ending. Though I do remember when I first read your first two stories about first Sam recovering from his back injury and than Dean waking up paralyzed in the wrong dimension, trying to find his way back to his own Sam, but than both guys made recoveries in their own time periods.

Well, until next time, thanks again for sharing your stories with us and take care.

This is one of the first fanfics I ever read... for some reason I thought it was already complete, so you can imagine my surprise (and delight!) when I saw a new chapter in my inbox!

This remains one of my favorite stories. I didn't think I'd like a happy ending, but it was wonderful. I can't wait to read more from you!
