There is something realistically sweet about this that keeps me coming back to it over and over again. Having been on the tail end of something similar once it's in no way actually fun to be that tired. I was never a huge fan of the original series, but I always liked the humans and Bumblebee's relationship. Your definition of brothers makes it all the better. Thanks so much for this!

I really like this, especially the bits regarding 'Bee's and Spike's brotherhood. I was grinning all the way through, and the part at the end about how short humans' lives are... you make a very good point. The transformers might make friends with humans, but those friendships won't last much longer than a blink of an eye for robots who live for millennia on end.

I wonder, would you consider writing a follow-up piece? I can envision Spike waking up and breathing fire about poor Bumblebee's plot to save the human from himself. Maybe Ratchet or one of the other 'bots could set Spike straight... I dunno. I'm getting warm fuzzies thinking about it. Pretty please?

LOVE this story. In my humble-but-often-loud opinion, I don't think this relationship gets explored enough. The bond they share was one of the hooks that kept me enthralled. I love the way you explored and expounded on it. The closeness, the level of commitment, and the sadly sweet truth of the very real expiration date. All wonderful.

(Also, the mental image of a shirtless Spike didn't hurt.)
