love this story...made my heartstrings tug... i havent watched tmnt in so long... totally forgot. but i am wondering... donnie took the hit instead of mikey? so sad...

Hehe, all these people who thought Donnie had died... but really, I read the synopsis, saw that the characters were Mikey and Donnie, and first thought: Donnie is usually known as the obsessive one. For him to go into an obsessive madness, in despair... would be uninteresting. But if Mikey... I was intrigued if Mikey became obsessive in grief, blamed himself, tried to become his brother..., and subtly checked the ending to find out if it was him, because if it wasn't I wouldn't bother reading. Lo and behold, an interesting character concept! So I read the story happily.

OH, what a twist! Damn, I seriously was NOT expecting that!

Whoa, you got me good. I did not see that coming, even though there were clues. Amazing story & definitely tugged at my heart.

HOLY SHIT this blew my fricking mind! I absolutely love this! I was so convinced that mikes was the one who was dead, I absolutely love tha final plot twist! It's so sad, I'm actually crying from the amazement and the extreme sadness, my emotions are dying right now! I love this so much :0

Oh my gosh u had me thinking that it was Mikey who was killed! The heck! Donnie (my favorite character). I pictured Donnie was the one throwing everything and trying to fix whatever Raph broke, but no. It was Mikey. Great story. Five stars.

DONNIE!? Wow literally tearing up now! This was great!

Wow. I knew some were off, but I tried to ignore them:

1. Donnie has red brown eyes while Mikey has baby blue eyes. I brushed it aside thinking that maybe you just got confused with eye colors.

2. Donnie doesn't need a textbook to fix a television set.

3. Mikey doesn't hold the family together. It's Donnie who can. When Leo was "AWOL" in South America for almost two years, the family remain intact. When Donnie went AWOL in SAINW, Mikey cannot keep Leo and Raph together. Donnie comes back and hours later, there was a big family reunion.

4. Donnie isn't the jubilant one. It's Mikey.

5. Raph doesn't call Donnie "ya little..." when they fight. Usually, it's Mikey whom he calls "little" but not Raphie.

However, even with the signs, I never expected the ending. Mind-blown.

You tricked me, ya son of a gun! And you did a brilliant job at it. That'll teach *me* to make assumptions, pft.

But seriously, that was amazing. The entire time I felt like something was just a tad off about the way you were describing the character I *thought* was Donnie. He wouldn't have needed a textbook to fix the circuit board, but maybe even he was having trouble fixing something in his grief. I really wouldn't describe him as "happy and jubilant" but I was willing to accept it because I'd already had that assumption nailed into my mind. The use of the word "haft", which makes far more sense in a reference to nunchucks rather than a bo staff, was lost on me.

Everything that was said had an underlying emotional explanation that I thought would work, but I had to read to the end to realize that I was looking at the story upside down. Kind of like one of those pictures that looks like a face whether it's upside down or rightside up.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Not to mention you made me cry, which is quite a feat in and of itself.

It's truly fascinating to reread this and recognize the more accurate subtext that I couldn't have noticed before. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.

Oh god...this is really sad, but also very well written, and in a way, full of love. I liked the way you make it seem like Mikey is the on who died, with Donnie talking...but it's really the other way around. Great job, especially for your first fanfiction. Keep writing, and may the wind be forever at your back; may it rise under your wings!

Mah gawd...You fooled my for the entire story, i had to reread it just to understand that it was Donnie who died...

This story was astounding. I love the ninja turtles, but the story isn't great because of them it is the way you wrote it. I had to go back and look it over again to see all the little details that I had missed. Wonderfully written and great ending.

Oh. My. God. It's. So. Awesome ! I can't believe it was Mikey all the time ! . When he said "he was the one who kept us together" I believed so hard it was Donnie talking about Mikey !
I juste loved your OS. Wonderful, painful, bieautiful. Almost perfect (and I say almost only because nothing can be perfect but, for me, I can't see what is wrong). Congratulations.
