I love this story. It's amazing. The reactions to tradition being broken, the added backstory, the character interactions are all gold. And Aizen drinking alone at the end is just perfect. Thank you for writing this.

This is a criminally underrated piece I return to time and again. Aizen is better characterised in one paragraph here than in the entirety of canon.

I honestly can't believe it's over ten years old now. This is a new account, but I've been following you guys for long enough to remember a very old, now deleted Baldur's Gate fanfiction (Or do we not talk about that? : P).

Jen, I bought Good Omens just so I could read Manchester Lost- I owe you a life-debt for introducing me to Pratchett. Andy, Uninvited Guests was a formative experience for me. Thanks so much for all the laughs this past decade!

This is a great story. If cannon hadn't completely destroyed Aizen as a character, and he himself wasn't such a petty, insufferable ass, I might feel inclined to fell something like pity for the lot he dealt himself after reading this. As it stands, I am stomping down on whatever small part of me still wants to feel pity for him, at least until someone manages to write the guy in a way that makes me consider redemption or him as more than a nonexistent implausibility.

Keep up the great work!

Kidding on my remarks, this work is still topnotch quality and totally impressive. The characterization and story line is simple but bittersweet (especially now that we know the end of Aizen, but not his machinations yet, of course)

Fascinating, lovely, and totally a worth read.
