Aww, this is an adorable take on them. I loved Ty Lee and Azula tying Zuko's shoelaces together and the moment at the end. It has great characterization and the touch of romance feels just right, not overdone or schoompy (esp. for their age group)

Okay, that first line just made me laugh.

"Ty Lee had announced that Mai had a crush on Zuko when they were five."

No lead-in, no outlining, no attempt at poetry or fluff, just a quick statement that is so flat and simple that it seems like something a five-year-old would put out.

Cute. One thing, though, you said that Ozai was inside the 'kingdom,' I think you meant that he was inside the 'castle' or the 'palace' or something like that. Unless the kids are supposed to be outside of the Fire Nation.

Really neat, I like how Azula's plan backfired, and how Ty Lee invented Mai's crush. Everyone was very in-character for their younger selves.
