I don't even know... this story is so heartbreakingly sad and beautiful, and I'm not sure if I'm relieved or terrified that there are five more chapters.

I'm gonna go make myself a cup of tea and go cuddle with my cat and dog now.

Despite the angst and sadness that would have been too too much for anyone else, I really loved your telling of his story.

Because... Geez! Kakashi's devotion to the dead! That ending! It makes such a sickening end to all those eyesmiles of his. How many are real, and how many fake?
Well, in reference your beginning note, I'm thinking Kishimoto's done a fine job in messing up Kakashi's life. Killing Ren off by having her commit suicide with the chidori, letting Obito live only to have him destroying Konoha and inadvertently killing his sensei, and... I think that's it, actually.

This is so good an SO sad... I am crying right now. I really think that this was THE perfect ending that could have been there. Rin and Minato's death broke my heart. And Kakashi more so. The first chapter was very original and innovative. 100/100!

I'm no Sakura fan, that's probably why I didn't like Rin as much as I used to in the previous chapter. I've always imagined that Rin would be a lot better than Sakura, not necessarily skill wise, but emotionally. I think it was the total ignorance of the fact that what one perceives isn't always the full and utter truth. She didn't really come to think of the fact that Kakashi had very real and scarring reasons to be acting and thinking that way, just like how Sakura was infatuated with Sasuke, without really stopping to think that there might have been something mentally wrong with him. Just personal opinion.

"A brown haired bitch," which refers to a girl or a female dog? "Wrapped a towel around his waste," as in is waist and that was a typo, or a waste as in he's chaste and there really isn't a point?

Ah, the sprinkle of humour, mentioned in passing. You know something's going to be doubly angsty when there's the little bit of humour. Great literary technique here.

Kakashi is so deliciously sadomasochistic here. His Nindo, when taken in comparison with Naruto's, or Lee's, Kakashi's Nindo just proves how under deprived his character is, how inescapable death is. The whole Naruto storyline is just so screwed up- in a very great, Kakashi-centric sadomasochistic angst-fest.

It's a shame to see this end, but you're right, it's the perfect ending.

This chapter makes me think differently of Rin. I don't like her as much. "If you stay close to me...you die." Utterly shattering.

I love the less than graceful beginnings of Kakashi's ninken, but nonetheless, I LOVE Pakkun. Pug-kun, Pakkun, heh. I understood the Orochimaru part, which was well written enough to lead the reader to come to such a conclusion. That's actually quite interesting, I've never really thought of it that way, but it's logical, and oh, so plot twisting if it happened in the canon world. Orochimaru is such a creep -_-
