OMG!

I've been a Saiyuki fic kick lately and I stumbled across this 1 because the summary intrigued me. I'm glad I did. It was a trip I must say, but well worth it. I will have to check out more of your stories to see if they're as good as this was.

This was, is absolutely AMAZING. Oh my goodness. I couldn't get enough of this story. I'm so glad I got to read this. Amazing:)

This story has been an absolute joy to read. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and only thought about it when I wasn't reading xD... I felt like I was actually watching the show while reading, which only goes to show how in character you were able to keep everyone. I feel so badly for Hakkai (ironically I'm taking abnormal psych this semester so I understoond everything xD) and poor Gojyo always seems to get the short end of the stick. Those two truly are more brothers than anything else. Sanzo is as heartless as ever, but those bits of his kindness were special and I enjoyed them, especially with his interactions with Goku. And don't get me started with that surprise at the end; I totally didn't see that coming, but I'm happy you wrote Nii in the way you did. You are an awesome writer and I'm happy to put you and your work on my favs list! :D

Woah, that ending was pretty fantastic! Not necessarily a happy ending, but I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel. I don't remember seeing it in your fic list, but if it exists, I'm starting it tomorrow night! :D

As for this fic, I believe I've said most of what I wanted to say in my previous comments, so I'll try to stick to just the last few chapters.

The thing with the girl in the alley gave me the creeps, but it was great for showing how far gone Hakkai was there at the end.
All of your blood talks were very creepy and very well written. Some of them almost made me hungry for blood, and that's kinda gross haha. But I really did enjoy your descriptions of the tastes and smells of the bloods as well as the desire for killing and the creepy way which you used to describe Gonou's rushes at how it would be to fight each person. It all lended for a good insight into just how fucked up Hakkai's mind eventually became.

As for the final battle, I loved that none of the group, not even Sanzo wanted to kill Hakkai, even when Hakkai was very definitely trying to kill all of them (except maybe Gojyo). Sanzo and Goku working together to make sure the other didn't die was really good, and the times when both were being severely injurred had me on the edge of my seat. Gojyo getting in the way made me sad, but it was so very Gojyo. For a while, I thought you were actually going to permanently kill Gojyo as a way to get Hakkai back, or else Hakkai was going to regain his senses in order to cure Gojyo.
The parts with Sanzo actually helping to comfort Goku and even Gojyo were pretty cute, and I enjoyed those scenes a lot! The parts with Hakuryuu were both cute and funny. I liked that the dragon wasn't taking Sanzo's words and just bit him. Cute.

The part with Nii at the end... :( I think it will make for an awesome sequel! Nii is such a bastard, but that just makes things more amusing where he's concerned.

I greatly enjoyed reading this story, thank you so much for writing it. I wish I had decent story writing skills.

Heehee, I'm glad Sanzo didn't kill Hakkai. He has feeeelings in this chapter...even if they are mostly covered by grumpiness.

I really liked Goku and Sanzo's interactions in this chapter as well as Sanzo's future threat of beating Lirin with the fan. This story has been mostly serious so far, but this chapter made me chuckle in several places.

My two favorite parts in this chapter (aside from the fact that Hakkai is alive) were when Sanzo considered rewarding Goku and settled on a future banana and when Goku realizes that he gets to sit up front but he has to deal with Sanzo's crazy driving. Poor Hakuryuu

Hmm...considering how many chapters are left, I'm guessing it's safe to assume that Sanzo hasn't killed Hakkai here (though if I was reading update by update, I'm sure this chapter would have had me feeling quite emotional).
Assuming I'm correct in Sanzo not actually trying to kill Hakkai, I like him for it. If I'm wrong, it leaves a bit of a sour taste that he would try to kill his friend. However, either Yaone or Kougaiji would very likely have been killed if Sanzo hadn't acted, so either way, Sanzo's actions make sense to me.
I do like that Gojyo punched him for it, though :P I wonder if he'll be more violent, or actually check Hakkai's body first?

One mistake that I've frequently noted in this story is the use of the word here for both 'here' and 'hear'. I'm usually pretty good about noting and ignoring spelling/grammar mistakes (as long as the story is really good as this one is), but since it's a recurring mistake, I wanted to point it out for future stories in case you still weren't aware. Here is used for location (The cookies are over here.). And hear is used for sounds (I can hear Goku eating the cookies.). Sorry if spelling advice bothers you. If so, feel free to ignore this part.

As before, I'm really enjoying the story so far.

I really liked the comraderie of the four main characters in the beginning of this. I'm glad that none of them want Hakkai dead as an early option. I don't think they would in character, but not all fanfics are in character haha. Fortunately for me, yours is very in character. Yay.

I'm glad that Sanzo was able to figure out the likely cause for Hakkai's...sickness, and I'm looking forward to figuring out how they fix things. At first, I was thinking that if he turned demon that it would fix things (since the sickness thing was supposed to affect humans), but I'm not as sure anymore.

I'm interested in seeing how things will work out with their Kougaiji group fight (I'm particularly worried for Yaone, but I don't think anything tooooo serious will happen at this point in the story).

Unfortunately, I have to go to sleep now, but I look forward to finishing this story tomorrow night :)

This story is really really good so far. I love your look into the psyche (sp?) of Hakkai as he's slowly losing his mind.

I can see Sanzo willing to kill Hakkai if it became impossible to help him, but I feel that he would at least try to figure out a solution that kept Hakkai alive. Gojyo and Hakkai don't seem so sure, but I don't see Sanzo shooting Hakkai as being anywhere near his first option. Even if he did prefer it, it wouldn't be the easiest because Goku and Gojyo would surely protest and make the whole thing more trouble than good. I can only see Goku agreeing if Hakkai had 100% lost it and there were no other options to consider. Gojyo...would probably never allow it, though.

I'm curious about how all of this will be resolved and whether or not it will be a happy ending or a depressing one. Honestly, at this point I can see it going either way. I'm hoping for happy, but sad can be just as poignant.

I'm also hoping that Sanzo proves Gojyo and Hakkai wrong in that his first option isn't to kill Hakkai (it doesn't look like it so far?)
Also, I find it surprising/funny that Gojyo honestly believes that Sanzo and Goku are not aware of Hakkai's condition. Well, he does severely underestimate Goku's intelligence...
It might just be wishful thinking, though, on Gojyo's part.

I just wanted to pause my reading to express my enjoyment of the story. I'm enjoying the ride so far.

Oh wow...this was an amazing wonderful fic. (I don't want to be able to imagine young!Gonou torturing butterflies...but I can now. ;_;) Even though it's an *evil* cliffie, I still love where you ended this. You really managed to wind down the action and everything even though you didn't resolve everything. I can totes see how it's going to take another whole fic to bring everyone back together again. I love the way you characterize everyone in this - it's spot-on. (Except for poor Hakkai, who definitely has an excuse...!) Thanks so much for writing this.

You're fantastic writing kept me hooked every step of the way (which is not an easy thing to accomplish, i might add).

Your characterizations were flawless and i really felt that you have a very deep understanding of the boys. honestly, i can't find anything bad at all to say about this story except that it just about ripped my heart out to see (read) Hakkai in that condition...but that's still a good thing, that you could appeal to the reader in such a way.

I can promise you right now that i will more than likely never read anything like this again, and i thank you for writing and posting in the first place.

on an interesting side note, i heard the song Reclusion tonight from Anberlin, and upon actually listening to the lyrics, i couldn't help but think that song could be like... the theme song or something to Dysphoria o_o

This is one of the best fics I've read to date, and I love it even more cos it did not contain any smut.

Your depiction of the main characters were spot on & accurate and you kept them in character - I think you would have done Minekura sensei proud.

Totally loved the chapter whereby Sanzo unleashed the karisen on Hoku in front of Kougaiji-ikkou. It was hilarious & so in character.

Well done & I'm definitely gonna stay glued for your updates on the sequel. It has been a great reading pleasure. Kudos!
