Reviews for Farewell
SiriusFan13 chapter 1 . 11/23/2009
Oh, I loved this one. I really like your protrayal of Hiko (my absolute favorite character). And I like the view you have on the story. It's somehow different than any other version I've seen.

Excellent job.

Hidari chapter 1 . 8/8/2006
This is beautiful and slightly sad. I'm glad they got together eventually.
skenshingumi chapter 1 . 7/22/2006
Interesting, in this version Hiko really wasn't there when Kenshin was considering a stop. So much better that Kenshin didn't stop in then, or he might never have gone back ten years later for the ougi, thinking his master lost. I think it was more psychologically appropriate too that Kenshin didn't stop in at the beginning of his journey. He would be too ashamed with no atonement even begun. Also, he would need that hope of not knowing to allow his only family to remain at least as a glimmer of a fixed point in his unstable world.

Sorry, I guess that was more commentary than review. I did like "That pure heart will be ground to dust by the twin stones of politics and passion." Very vivid and apt.

Hiko's POV came through very well in your story. I like that he recognized the differences between his character and Kenshin's character - the cynic versus the idealist.

Good one shot!

Hello! I found this over on MeijiTales [more complete review there] and I just want to say I really enjoyed it.
moeru himura chapter 1 . 7/1/2006
Wow! That's a different perspective... Hiko having made a decision just like Kenshin's.

"When the government is settled, I will come back. If he is still alive, he will return and I will see what he has become. And then I will decide if he is still worth the sacrifice…" He really acts like a brother or a father to Kenshin to still have strong faith in him.

Then, we are left to think of the two's future (and we all know that future). It sure made me smile. What could that companion oneshot be?:P
Warg chapter 1 . 7/1/2006
-Too lazy to log in- hehe

Hey..

Lovely oneshot.. short and perfectly IC..

Hiko wanting to move Kenshin away from the people he has learnt to identify with.. people he wants to help.. new idea.. good one too.. alas, too late...

And Hiko sits and waits, and decides to allow him a second chance, even if his fore-sight shows Kenshin's future plainly enough.

Great read

I love your writing. You always introduce fascinating new thoughts and different takes: well, OK, stubborn!Hiko isn't new, but his preparing to move and take Kenshin away from temptation and the Kihetai is new and perfectly IC.

Thanks very much.

Short, sweet, simple, liked it :)
DesertRose3000 chapter 1 . 6/30/2006
Great as always! It must've broken Hiko's heart when Kenshin left, even if the giant would never admit to such a thing.
