Hello and good day. I really enjoyed this story, and was rather please that you stuck to the manga events so nicely. Good thing Hiko was wounded during those fights...good for Enishi anyway. I wouldn't have minded if Hiko had sliced him to bits...but I'm pretty heartless that way.

I really enjoyed the story...and good focus on Hiko...since he's my favorite Ruroken charecter...pity he only appeared briefly during the Shishio arc...

Wow. What a way to interpret the Jinchuu arc of the manga, with Hiko as an additional character...and in fewer chapters, too... :-P

Although I must admit, I'm confused by a couple things. First and foremost, who exactly where those guys that Hiko called his allies? I don't recall seeing any sign of them in the anime or manga. And besides that, in one of the chapters Aoshi said he found a trail of blood leading away from the dojo, Hiko's blood...so why didn't anybody else see it BEFORE that moment? I would think that, even in their initial grief for Kaoru and Hiko's 'deaths,' that the blood trail would have been discovered sooner than that.

And I do still personally think that the impact of the original Kenshin vs. Enishi fight (both of them) would have been much more impacting if Hiko hadn't been involved as he was in this story. Still, it was quite entertaining to see Enishi fighting two Hiten masters at once and holding his own...as well as seeing him repentant at the very end of the story...

I enjoyed reading this fanfic i thought it was well thought out and well written. Just one thing that bothered me about when you would use Japanese is that Kenshin would never say "daijoubu ka?" as that is a rather abrupt and rude way of saying it. (Japanese only use that when they really, really know each other well.) He probably would have said "Daijoubu desu ka" as he is talking to his teacher most of the time when he says it. Gomen nasai it's just that from this last semester in college i've had a heavy dose of how the hierarchy of Japan's culture. Btw if I wasn't mistaken was there some characters from Inuyasha in this story? If there are I think that's awesome. I don't know what better anime to combine then Rurouni kenshin and Inuyasha. I hope you write up another fanfic about shimabara. Good luck.

Wow! Very good! Absolutely excellent ending. I was very impressed with your writing and all the research that went into this thus far. Everyone was perfectly in character and I enjoyed surprises like seeing Soujiro pop up and I'm pretty sure Hiko's older than everyone thinks and on very good terms with a certain silver haired half-demon not to mention a fox demon as well. _-

Well done for everything thus far and I'm looking forward to the epilogue.

Wow! Awesome chapter Gem! I swear, you amaze me with how you manage to get behind the concepts and theories of sword fighting. Your knowlegde astounds me and it's so insightful- just like in the anime when Kenshin is battling whoever.

This chapter is just soo cute! i just loved these two lines..

“Feh, at least you’re not leaping at me, as you did the day after you learned the ougi.” Hiko replied, yet smirked at him, regardless.

“Baka Deshi.” Hiko muttered, then shoved Kaoru forward, “This is the one you should be launching yourself at.”
