Oh my, what a brilliant fic. I love the way you bring Charles and Erik back together here. The chess metaphors they both use and Erik's gradually recognizing Charles are so well-done. I especially love how the ending doesn't seem to set them up for more action or the next installment, but just for more chess games and "happy memories," which you don't see often in post-X3 fics. Warm fuzzies all around!

X-men is one of my favourite movie series from Marvel. I came across this story and liked it very much.

This does make the third movie better.

*sigh...* That was a happy sigh - this story DID make me feel warm and fuzzy! Oh, I absolutely loved this. From the moment the stranger appeared, I was hoping for a little bit of happiness to enter Erik's lonely life. I haven't played chess in a such a long time myself, but I don't think I'll ever look at the pieces in the same way again. Thank you for sharing this. It was lovely. :)

This is the best Erik/Charles fic I've ever read! I loved it. You captured the characters amazingly! Have you seen the new X-men: First Class? Great slash-y moments lol!

Aw that was so sweet. I have been in a Eric/Charles mood tonight so thank you for this wonderful fic. I loved the warm fuzziness about it. Very sweet. I cried when Eric watched Charles die. It's been almost two years since I've seen the movie but for some reason I was in the mood to read what others thought about it. You two did a magnificent job!

How much do I wish this could be shown in the movie...

I love this. It was a great glimpse into Xavier and Erik's friendship. I always love it when you do that.

Interesting idea. That one scene in the movie where Professor Xavier was "killed" startled me, 'cause I didn't think Jean/Pheonix has the power to do that...

And that one scene at the very end of the movie was neat, although, there probably won't be a sequel explaining things.

Thank goodness for fanfiction, I suppose.
