This is very cute. I love Axel's obsession with Roxas and making Roxas be happy/emotional. I also like how this seems more or less canon, what with the time since Axel lost his heart and the lack of respect from the elder nobodies. I also loved the line about Axel being dark, Roxas being light and Demyx reflecting them both. Very nice. :)

I'm impressed. The writing here was incredible, and I look forward to reading anything else you've written. Definitely a fan! ((Haha, AkuRoku forever! 3)) I like that you didn't write it as all sunshine and rainbows, the Roxas would fall immediately and madly in love with Axel, that a relationship would take time to build...and I liked your description of Demyx as reflecting the pair, because he's water. Thanks for the great read.

I've read a few of your Axel-centric one-shots and I'm absolutely falling in love with your characterization of him, this story being my favorite. Your writing style is very sophisticated and reads very smoothly.

Wow... just, wow. Such amazing character analyzations, how Axel looks inside of people and knows everything and knows what'll hapen, and how he's already sort of planning to betray everyone right from the start, rejecting their ideals, and knowing they will fall. And for Roxas, his apathy is the best way to describe him. His happiness, and anger, and everything else all seems sort of weak, all the same in the end. And Demyx, his song is him trying to find his heart, and the hearts of the others for them, and though he never will he won't quit either and won't stop smiling as he tries.

This is such awesomeness, and I wished they got their happy endings. But they're the villians in the end, although we can dream the endings for them. Who knows, maybe Axel and Demyx have found thier better places in darkness.

I absolutely love this. This isn't even the first time I've read this. I was in the mood for some angst, Kingdom Hearts style, and I came looking for Stalemates.

This is fantastically written. I love the view point, I love the irony, I love the feeling.

How sweet! There are some really good lines in this fic, that just sound so -right-. The best is the end, I think. Those words just brought a smile to my face, it was so cute. You are really good at making something so sad and so sweet you can't decide which one it is. Very good job. I loved the way you wrote Axel, Demyx, and Roxas.

Dang.. that was good. Really makes you think, you know? I liked the whole concept.. It was really, really good.. Kudos on making me ponder, because I don't have much of a brain to use, and this made me use it. xD

I...LOVE this story. There's such a wonderful overload of angst that it makes me sigh happily. The characterization is absolutely perfect, and the theme is absolutely beautiful. My favourite line would be this one.

"and together they'll tell Demyx their secret so Demyx didn't need to search too, and maybe, just maybe, Axel thinks, maybe they'll get their happy ending after all."

It's just so...sweet. I love the way this is written. Utterly brilliant and I'm faving this.

I love how you've captured the dynamics between Axel, Demyx, and Roxas. This phrase right here: "They don't belong here, they're not children of darkness, and while they're not children of light either, Axel is fire and Roxas is light, and Demyx reflects them both because he's water and surely all of that has to count for something, even if they didn't have hearts." - that just... I mean wow. That just says it all, as far as I'm concerned.

The whole story just sort of tugged at my heartstrings a little, because the Nobodies' story is just so unfair, and you really captured that while still managing some humor and leaving this little glimmer of hope at the end. Just an amazing story all around.

Wow... Just wow.
