I can see Cavennaugh picturing living in the suburbs with three kids with Molly, if/when the horrid mess ever ended. I can't see him admitting that to Fenway.

But Fenway was right: it was Cavennaugh's right and obligation to "put her down." Like in the old Larry Talbot movies - a werewolf can only be killed by one who loves him.

Ohh, that was good! Horrible, but good! I totally almost cried, and everything! And the ending scene was really very vivid, at least to me. Very nice. (In that horrible, dramatic, depressing, sense.) lol

It's a good story but in the series Molly wanted to be locked up, till they found a cure...

So sad! Even though I knew what must be coming, I just couldn't stop reading.

Firstly, I'm glad you specified that it was your own poem that you had extracts of along the way- I was worried that you'd written a songfic and would get banished or something, so good that you haven't!

That was a really creepy opening scene- the exoskeleton thing was weird, where did that come from? Good use of imagery there.

Just one nitpick- Molly never told Fenway she wanted to die if she were infected, did she? Which episode is that from? All I remember is from the one where Lucas- or was it the guard?- was worsening, when the guys said they would want to die, she said, "Not me, if I ever turn, I want you to get as much information out of me as you can and then lock me up, there's always the chance you might find a cure." I remember that because I would've thought she, along with most people, would want to die, but then she said something completely different and I realized it was more true to her character to want people to extract information from her and then imprison her just in case.

Sad ending, although I knew it was coming. I like that he goes to tell her mom in person about what happened. It's sweet how she's talking to her 'father' and saying that she trusts Cavennaugh, no matter what he's doing. So her father was just a hallucination and Fenway was humoring her when he said that he saw him? That's my interpretation anyway. Good work, finally!

I'm so glad you wrote this; it's totally different from your other story, and it's very focused, and I think you write better when you're focused.
