Domesticated cows have a bit of a reputation. I think which one depends on the culture you're living in. Americans, both US and South America probably think of steaks (and after reading a bit further) ...or burgers! My country is pig country, so it's more like grazing dairy cows (for the cream sauce for my pork), in India the connotation is yet different from those.

In the Civilization IV mod "Pie's Ancient Europe" the most dangerous and aggressive wild animal that threatens your young civilisation, or rather your units, including military, is the aurochs. It has a base strength of 8, while all human units in the first two thousand years or so have base strength 2, and no infantry unit during the neolithic age goes over 4. The only unit that does (at 5, like the second strongest animal, the bear) is the disc-wheel chariot. The first unit to match the aurochs is the spear fighter, an IRON AGE unit, long after even the bronze age. Oh, and it has an attacking bonus in forests and on hills that completely negates any defence bonuses from height or covering.

I once saw a photo gallery in a National Geographic where a wisent in Poland completely destroyed a wild boar. It speared the pig to death with its horns, ripped it apart, and trampled the rest into mush which left nothing more than red mud and snow, and a wisent almost completely covered in blood. According to the text the pig did nothing to provoke the wisent. It wasn't during mating season, it didn't feed off the wisent's food, nothing at all. Just at the wrong place at the wrong time. And couldn't flee in the deep snow.

While these various stories are all a good bit of fun, I think having -all- the characters /always/ think everything is funny is a little too much like a laugh track on sitcoms. A few more realistic reactions to go along with all the insanity would make for an overall better experience in my view.

I just finished reading these three stories. Yeah, I enjoyed them. A little off the wall for me but there was more than enough in them that I really enjoyed.

I was a little disappointed that there weren't any chapters on the relationship between Simon and Minnie, but maybe you could come up with a couple of chapters for a stand-alone story. That is a relationship story I would love to read.

I'll take a break for a couple of days and then see what other stories you have.
