This has been a fascinating story, and I love the idea of a Tom Riddle who realises that he can't feel things in the same way that other people do, but still chooses not to be a monster. Dumbledore in the canonical world is always saying that our choices matter the most - but is he really prepared to accept that choices matter more than feelings (or even that making a right choice that goes against your feelings takes greater heroism than if you have the right natural inclinations)? I like the way that in the alternative universe, both Riddle and Dumbledore managed to be good influences on each other: Dumbledore, instead of giving up on young Tom, admits to his own dark past, and sets out to try to show Tom that there are other options, and so learns to be a more compassionate person.

How much can anyone - Dumbledore, or Riddle, or Snape - really change? Maybe your core instincts don't, but over time, the way you behave and the habits you form certainly do change the structure of your brain to some extent. And I don't think Snape (in the canon universe - we haven't learnt much about the version of him in the alternative universe) was ever truly a monster in the first place, just a lonely and unhappy teenager who was desperate to find someone - anyone - who would accept him.

Like everyone else, I'd love to see whether there is any more of this story, but it's looking hopeful.

It is a good story. You manged to build a complete new chracter out of Voldemort. And in some way your Voldemort is far ore beliveble than the orignal.

With Harry's record it should be the Defense professors who should be afraid.

No, I have a better question. Why there's no ending (T_T). But you know what, I think it's better, that there are good stories even if they're unfinished, rather than there will be only completed ones, but not so good. I will still love and remember "Rectifier" even if I will never know how it ended. (That sounded kinda weird, but thats what I feel. I'm not very good with words and stuff) I want more stories with TR as a main character! But thats not happening, I guess...
