I always felt like this would be the case...Leia really does seem more like Anakin than Luke ever did, at least to me. Wonderful story.

I've always found this sort of thing one of the most interesting things about Leia, she is good at politics, but it seems more of a skill born from determination than an innate skill as a diplomat. It's one of the things I liked a lot about the latter Yuuzhan Vong books, how Leia becomes more and more a warrior before a politician, while Luke continues to go deeper into politics.
This story also reminded me of an alternate universe comic book in which Vader and Palpatine figured out who Leia was pretty early on and turned her to the dark side relatively quickly.
This is very well done, and the ending is particularly good.
