I loved the voldemort battle scene. It was among the best that I've read. That said, the Ginny piece, especially her re-appearance really didn't fit. Based only on what you wrote, there is no way that they spent any time together while Harry was at Hogwarts.

Actually, I thought your placing him in the muggle world was an inspired bit of storytelling.

By my recollection, this is almost the first scene where (your) Ginny had a speaking line. To have her state her (undying) love at this point makes her sound like a deluded stalker. Then again (She) pulled almost the same thing.
