I don't know if you still use your FFN account or send replies to those who reviewed your fanfics (your last fanfic was posted in 2005 and it seems you haven't been active on FFN in the last decade). But I wanted to tell you that I enjoyed reading the thread you made about your virtual ending to the series on the fanforum board. And the banner you made ("How will it end? Beyond good and evil by Nicky") is cool. I enjoyed reading about the work you've done on this great fanfic when it was in progress and the process it underwent and what has changed or stayed the same in the final product. Also, Christmas is in a few days, and I'm reading "Beyond good and evil" for the third time. I can't get enough of this great virtual ending you wrote. I did research on FFN and other fanfic sites, and from what I know, you're the only one who wrote a virtual ending, and one that tie up some of the more important plot points and questions, an answer to the unsatisfactory ending to the TV show (and it's so much better than the abrupt ending of the TC which left many with the need for some closure on it). Speaking of that, you really did a great job at that, and I have a sense of closure, which is good, the way they left it was driving me crazy. I agree with a lot of what Sir Fireboard said in his review on your thread on the fanforum site. I always wanted to read a good and satisfactory virtual ending in the form of a fanfic, ever since I watched the show for the first time back in 2003, and even before there was a season 2. You made my dream come true and I just love your fic.

The Carrie/Davis was cute and I think the siblings aspect with Jack totally worked (she has little to no backstory, so you can make it up as you go along). And thank God you gave Jack a sibling, 'cause he doesn't seem to have a family in the show, either that or his family doesn't care about him. He's on his own and doesn't seem to have a place to stay. So I'm glad you gave him a sister who cares about him. The characters were so perfectly written and this is one of the best fics I've ever read (and I've read lots of fanfics). I cried when I read the scene where Jack died, but I'm so glad you brought him back to life and reunited him with Tru. I love that your great virtual ending has humour, a lot of action, and of course, Tru/Jack. The kissing scene was great. I adore Tru/Jack and I ship them big time, it's my OTP. I've always knew (ever since 2003) that Tru and Jack are meant for each other and I've always wanted to see them together as a couple, but stupid FOX cancelled the show way too soon. I'm madly in love with that ship. When I see those two together I feel all warm and fuzzy inside and I grin like an idiot, I can't help it. Yeah, I am a hopeless romantic, I have no problem admitting it, and I totally assume it! Thanks a lot for sharing your virtual ending to the series with us on FFN, I posted the link and shared that great fic on my google page. I know I will reread it often in the future too. I enjoy reading it and it's so worth revisiting.

As AmethystB said, "I believe if the show had continued, either she or Jack would have given up their calling. I mean, Tru had been on the brink a couple of times and Jack certainly wavered in "Last Good Day", so why not?"

Losing the calling/power works well too in some fanfics.

After I watched the series and before I started reading the fanfics, I often bursted into tears and thought to myself:

"How about they (Tru and Jack) both say, "To hell with this "fate vs buying a few people some extra time" thing, let's both give up our calling and let someone else take care of this, let's skip town"? They could pack their stuff, run away together (maybe even change their names) and start a new (normal, fulfilling, happy) life together in some faraway town or country where they they will be able to leave the past behind, and move on, and where they won't have to live double lives. They would be free to love each other and even to have a kid or adopt one. Harrison and Meredith can take care of themselves, they're not children anymore, and Davis can hire someone else. They don't need to know where Tru and Jack are going, or at least, they can be given a vague location and some news via a letter with no return adress (if they can't find it within themselves to accept Tru and Jack's love relationship and their desire to move some place else). Tru and Jack could start anew somewhere else. Don't they deserve their fair share of love and happiness after everything they have been through in life? And obviously, those two understand each other like no one else could really understand them, and what they have been through because of some calling they didn't even choose or ask for. Some people asked Tru for help, but did it ever occure to anyone that Tru and Jack also need help, and that they want to be saved from themselves... and from this calling that has deprived them of normal love/family relationships and social lives as Tru pointed out during her conversation with Davis in "Star-Crossed"? There is just so much a human being can suffer and sacrifice for any given cause or "calling" before it becomes downright cruel, unhealthy and damaging. Let someone else receive the calling and take care of those things. Tru and Jack deserve freedom, love, happiness, social lives, and a family of their own after everything they have been through for years. They have helped others, now they can think and plan their own future together and fulfill their dreams and projects. They deserve to be together and happy, they are meant for each other."

I hope it makes sense to someone else besides me. I hope someone else somewhere share my feelings on this matter. I've seen about two dozens of good "Tru Calling" fanfics here on FFN and I just love them. Most of them are Tru/Jack fics, and some of them where written by cherrygurl1225 or spikesgal248. I faved them.

That's a good story you wrote there ("Beyond good and evil") and I faved it...

I've read this fanfiction years ago somewhere else and it just came back to me while I was watching a music video, I'm so glad I found it again so I can read it again whenever I feel like. Thanks for sharing.

I really, really love this story. It was so in character and fitted all perfectly. I hope the show had ended like this. It is so sad, that we had not the chance to watch this or at least something like this. :( I think your story will be my personal canon now. :D *favs of course*

I really, really love your story and I'm so sad, that we had not a chance to watch this or at least something like this. Anyway I think your story will be my canon now. :D Everything just fitted perfectly and was wonderful and awesome written. :D Thank you for this story. I really wanted to read a good end for the show. :)

And especially the whole scenes between Jack and Tru were perfect and so *AWW* ;)
