Hoho, wow, the little Prince is really possessive of his Maha!

To think that Atem was able to send out the Gods like that...he truly is King, even as a child. He's a lot smarter than he looks. He smuggled Mana in with them, was able to call up his three Godly Kas to smite his enemies, and he can't seem to control them too well. Only when Mana snapped him out of it (intentionally? unwittingly?) by mentioning Mahado did he come to.

Such is the power of children.

No wonder Seto is so protective of them. His present role as CEO of a corporation that formerly produced weapons of mass destruction turned card games company is befitting him.

No wonder he made such an excellent protector and Guardian of the Pharaoh, and then succeeded him to be Pharaoh himself.

Will Atem's father be able to find them now? I hope so.

Once Seto is done reliving/dreaming of the past, we can get too the real good stuff.

Ohhh, Mahado is showing off his magical prowess, alright! Two Thousand Knives...is that part of Illusionary Magician's powers, or was that something else - say, Mahado's actual powers that were sealed? (Will we see Magician of Black Chaos in all his Ancient Egyptian glory?)

I look forward to the day when Seto sees this side of Mahado, if Mahado lives long enough, that is...

Uh oh. Seto and Mahado & the kids separated from the Pharaoh and his cohorts?

Is this part of the villains' plans?

Mahaado is more than what he seems here. I mean, talking about casually slitting someone's throat (his old Master's?!) and blowing things up...is this really the Prince's Maha?

Before Heishin, there really isn't much known about Mahado, is there? Not that Set really knows.

By the way, I noticed the last past titles have been different song lyrics. Or are they just themes? 'Airplanes' lyrics are finished; what songs do these titles come from?

Also, when will we get back to the present day with Seto (Kaiba), Mokuba, and Yuugi-tachi? What're Jounouchi, Marik and Ryou up to now? It's been a while since you've taken us down Seto's AE memory lane. I'll look forward to reading more.

Wow, even here, chibi!Atem/Yuugi is super-smart and terribly clever. To think that he was able to smuggle Mana along the ride with them, without giving it away to his father, servants, Seto and Mahaado...really, Yuugi just shows he has it in him to be a great ruler!

The Kuribohs are super cute. It was terrible what happened to their hosts, though. At least, the little Prince is taking care of them. He seems to be able to use them really well, too.

I'm not so sure what's going on here. Dragon? Is it another Duel Monster Ka? Not Blue Eyes, though...

Oh my. So Heishin is there with them.

I hope Mahaado doesn't get hurt here. With them all in the Pharaoh's presence, and in front of the young Prince, everyone should be behaving.

It's been a while since we've been in the presence. Is Seto awake? Or is he sleeping? Just curious.

With this new insight into Seto's ancient past, it's very clear why he cares so much about children.

His experience with the young Prince Atem, his best friend Mahaado being under an abusive teacher, and now, these children whose lives were struck down by evil people, now turned into Tablets...

This is another new level of horror.

Any person's Ka that ends up sealed into a Tablet is stuck in limbo.

If Seto is in the throes of remembering this, it's easy to see why he would rather not see the past and forge ahead stubbornly into the future. Best to concentrate on the here and now, protect Mokuba, and ensure the success of Kaiba Corp for the sake of children's happiness. This is a most noble pursuit. Much better than thinking about all this death and tragedy that happened in another life.

As for Mahaado...he's been taught to dress like a woman? To be comfortable in both genders? This high priest Heisheen...will we ever get to see him in the future, and not just in flashbacks to the past?

This story just gets deeper and deeper.

I am looking forward to seeing more present day characters and seeing how they're holding up.

Besides Asim, does Isis know that Mahaado was under Heisheen's training? She had the Millennium Tauk. But I doubt she'd need the bloody thing if she heard what the servants were saying and seen Mahaado around.

I think this is the second chapter we've seen Heishin's name mentioned. I haven't played the actual game, but there was a Yu-Gi-OH! game with him in it. Right?

Kaiba's furious, but how well he manages himself under the circumstances! This is why he makes such a good leader, even if he didn't think so of himself in the ancient past. Will he tell Mahado what happened, or will he keep Mahado in the tablet until Yuugi wakes up (and beats him up?) What's going on with the rest of Yuugi-tachi? Anzu, Jounouchi, Honda, Ryou? What about Mai and Ryuuji, Ishizu, Malik and Rishid?

Amazing! And his talk with Shimon/Yugis Grandpa so sad.. He is all by himself and no one can help poor Seto. If he just accepts to be a protector. Even when he fails at least he tried.. And poor Mahaado being treated less than an animal...

The memories are so greatly narrated and detailed I can see why how everything ended in ancient Egypt drove Set/Seto insane. His relationship with Atem/Yugi and Maha/Mahadoo is fantastic, I love every bit of it!
Then prince is adorable and kinda like a younger sibling like Mokuba to Set and Mahaado... I kinda start to ship them... And Kisara... WAhhh so much goodness in here

I just love how you overlap these scenes! It's really great way to write even though I had to read some parts multiple times to get what's going on. Not that good with my English skills yet
