You got the name for the Somebody Else's Problem Charm from the "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy" series by Douglas Adams, which contains a S.E.P or Somebody Else's Problem Field that hides objects like spaceships by making them somebody else's problem. And yes, I am showing off with the thoroughness of my answer. Also, according to Rowling's timeline, the Marauders didn't start at Hogwarts until 1971, and Horace Slughorn taught Potions during the Marauders era.

Since my own son is almost Harry's age when his parents died, I feel more emotional about this part of the story that when I first read it 20 years ago.

This is a time travel for the Marauders, and for me too, since I don't remember reading a fanfiction older than this (maybe Cassandra Claire's Draco series long ago).
It's also my first reading of a time travel where the Marauders go to the future. Nice idea !
For now it's fun, but I assume their will be tears later.

i love this fic. it was short but it was just perfect. i love the focus on james because sometimes i can't help but think that people tend to forget that it wasn't only lily's love that saved harry from voldemort. james died that night too trying to protect not only harry but also lily.

It's probably water under the bridge by now, but some spaces between paragraphs and bigger ones between scenes would have made this more readable. In any case, I want to see where this premise goes. This fic came highly recommended by "Alohomora".

Without giving anything away, I think the end was just right. What you wrote makes him more of a three dimensional character. That adds depth that makes a story more rich. Actually, this story went quite a bit deeper than any time travel story I've read before. It was tight, had a beginning, a middle, and an end, it was well edited, and had great emotional themes for each each character.

I must say this is one of the better Marauders-meet-the-Golden-Trio stories I've found. Many of the other stories rush through strained and slightly sugar-crazed dialogue trying to keep track of all the characters, but yours was well balanced and all the personalities came through nicely.

I am a little disappointed that Hermione wasn't very prominent, but I get that she was probably unwilling to deal with fighting against the Marauders. And that she probably didn't want to ruin the boys' fun.

The only thing wrong with this story is the date... First two chapters said October 3, last two said November 3.
