I've been off and on working on a crack!fic of cliches myself, but it wasn't (nor will be it) a self-insertion. You're a brave, brave author to single out the American-Mary-Sue-Somehow-Also-Falls-Down-The-Well universe. I missed exactly how that happened, but I bet I can guess. She's an exchange student whose class was having a field trip to the Higurashi Shrine at just the right/wrong moment and then after the curiosity that was Kagome saying "I'm leaving now, bye!" and then proceeding to run into a storage shed, she just HAD to investigate, and she always has been such a clutch so whoopsie-doodle! LOL
