While this was an interesting story with great writing and characterization, I can’t give it much more merit than ‘It was a good read to pass time’. Maybe it’s personal taste but seeing as this story doesn’t really move the overall story forward other than ‘death eaters released from azkabanvoldemort attacks places everyone understands how serious the war has become’, I can’t say much else about this.

If anything, I was more excited about the tone of the story in the final chapter than the reveal of the antagonist. Hogwarts closed down, everyone preparing for a war? Yes please. Well, it’s definitely personal taste.

Just thinking about what I’ve written: mystery genre is difficult to write in while advancing the overarching plot. I’ve realised all mystery stories (hpfanfic) I’ve read never had any real consequence on the main story. So this story really is a good one considering what it has achieved.

Great job maintaining canon characterization, I got frustrated with Harry as usual for canon. A few are a bit offSnape, for instancebut in a believable evolution. Very original plot as well.

This fic doesn’t get nearly enough attention. I’ve been reading HP fics for years and this is the first one that captures J.K.’s voice perfectly and feels like a true Harry Potter book. I’m intrigued that you are still writing fan fiction and yet haven’t written a sequel to this. It certainly leaves plenty unanswered. Keep up the great work and feel free to message me if you are ever interested in having a Beta do a final revision on this story.

Hmmm this feels like it would be common knowledge for those who bothered to study potions. Or healers. It does seem a very important fact. Unless you were just purposely showing how ignorant harry is?

Just wanted to comment on that. Nice fic though i need to keep reminding myself harry is 16 and does not make smart decisions all the time. He‘s so aggravating and self centered sometimes which comes with being a teenager

Superbly written story! Your attention to detail was phenomenal and the story very well told. JK couldn't have written these characters better herself. So glad I found this gem and it is going into my Favorites.

You, Nomad1, have successfully managed to capture the essence of a true Harry Potter story: from Ron and his combination of lazy was and absolute loyalty to Hermione and her brains and big mouth. You even did this all without making it an excuse to tell everybody you hate Dumbledor (which I doubt).
