Excellent chapter. I liked the arguement between Ford and Bates, and the way Ford stuck up for the major even though he was obviously a little bitter about his lack of influence with Sheppard.

Their talk was good, even though they didn't actually say all that much. I'm glad to see that they decided to stick with the relationship...did, indeed, admit that it *was* a relationship. McKay's logic was good; that they would be able to work through all the feelings better if they actually admitted them and didn't let them build up to critical all the time. I was also pleased that Rodney felt less trapped once it had been decided. The nice bit of banter and the kiss proved that they'd both had a weight lifted.

Is this complete now? I'd love for you to write more because I'd really like to see how the relationship grows from this tentative start. And there's Bates' investigation. He obviously has issues with Sheppard the man, even if he can respect Sheppard the Major (though he seems to have problems with his command decisions too). How would he react if he actually discovered that John and Rodney are involved?

I liked the angst, and the way they're both so desperately trying not to care, trying to keep it as nothing more than sex-as-stress-relief. (And failing ;) )

There were some interesting glimpses into Sheppard's mindset too, with his comments about 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'. It would be interesting to see some of them expanded (even though I've got a pretty good idea about what he's refering to).

Its weird that i like this. Its slash but i don't really go for it, usually ship McWeir, but summary sounded good and I read on. It fits with the episodes and seems in chracter so you must be writing good slash for someone not usually liking it to be drawn in. I even wouldn't mind more so very good job.

hm... yes, very interesting take on these two. More? I think so! Need to know what's going to happen when they get back to Atlantis.
