Love how protective they are. Are you gonna add more to let readers know what happened after they saved her? :)

why would scorpina care if kim was getting beat up unless Scorpina herself was abused by goldar off screen or she was under a spell like Tommy and Kat and was trying to help by the way what planet was Scorpina on anyway.
Queen of Fouls chapter 1 . 12/5/2004
i love your stories. keep up the good work.

by the way, my brother had this idea this morning. does anyone want to re-write the dino thunder series from the point where tommy is mesogog's prisoner? lets say the rangers don't make it in time and tommy keeps refusing to help? i remember mesogog said something like "you are going to help me get [the power source from the stone] or you will mot like the consequences." just an idea but i told him i wouldn't write it because i suck at writing.

Higuchimon chapter 1 . 12/2/2004
This was a little interesting, but there's a couple of things I think I should point out. For one, Kat and Tommy didn't date until *long* after Jason had become Gold Ranger. In fact, their first date was in "Hawaii Zeo", one episode before Jason *loses* the Gold Ranger powers. (when you're a Kat/Tommy obsessee, you memorize these things ;))

For another...why would Scorpina even care if Kim's getting beaten up? If it bothers her that much, why wouldn't she go do something about it herself?

And why *is* Kim letting herself get beaten up? You don't explain that at all. Kim became a very strong character who just wouldn't let that happen. It kind of is being used as a rather cheap plot device just to get them back together. It's been used so often that it doesn't have any emotional impact anymore. It's like a formula. Kim sends the letter because of evil!abusive!boyfriend, Tommy finds out the truth, shows up, and Kim is saved without having to actually exert any effort on her own behalf other than kiss Tommy and maybe say "he abused me". Once in a while she might run away. But there's just nothing that stirs up any *emotions* in that anymore.

Which has more real emotional impact? Kim being beaten, helpless, and useless to be anything but Tommy's vapid arm ornament, or Kim being strong, independent, thinking for herself, and an actual *partner* to whoever her significant other is? It's doing a disservice to both of them like this. Kim can't stay a helpless tagalong forever (and having Ranger powers has nothing to do with her being helpless or not, so just throwing a convenient morpher at her isn't going to do much). What does Tommy do when his pink princess is slaying the dragon on her own? *That* is the kind of emotional gut-punch that can turn an old cliche into something good. To give them real problems and real maturity and growth.

*looks back up* My, that got long, didn't it?

Final words, shoot for realism, within the bounds of common sense and characterization. It'll work out best for everyone in the long run, you, the characters, *and* the readers.
