A lot of fun to read and Carson is definitely the type to put his patients far above himself! Great story!
zafaran chapter 8 . 8/25/2008
I like how you're handling Beckett's accent. Unless you're going to immerse yourself in recordings-I started with audio tapes before VHS tape decks became affordable for normal folks-of the characters to the point where you get the character's voice thoroughly ingrained in your sub-conscious (which takes a long time and sticks really, *really* well as I can testify since I've still got television shows I wrote and submitted scripts for that I can still "hear" the character's voice perfectly 20 years later), the suggested writing protocol is to use normal spelling and grammar, and just "flavor" it with elements of the proper dialect or language. I hope your schedule and muse will allow you to write and post more chapters on more stories sometime soon. Keep up the good work. Zafaran {mailto:} zafaran {at} fastmail {dot} fm

I *love* medically detailed hurt/comfort (as my past technical beta readers and my research library can tell you), and I was absolutely delighted to discover your work. I'm saving it to ebook for rereading and making sure that I add "by b7-kerravon" to the titles so I know I'm getting a story by you even if I don't immediately recognize the story title as one of yours at a later date. I hope your schedule and muse will allow you to write and post more chapters on more stories sometime soon. Keep up the good work. Zafaran {mailto:} zafaran {at} fastmail {dot} fm
AlexaGeorge chapter 8 . 8/10/2008
I loved it! I'm a sucker for Beckett fics! lol. I think you should write another one about Beckett, everyone's favorite doctor! And it's always great when the doctor gets a taste of his own medicine! :P Great story!
ferryboat George chapter 8 . 5/25/2008

Reius Devirix chapter 8 . 1/24/2007
Another good turn out. I really like Beckett. As for whumpage... well, I nominate Sheppard for that. I just have this thing where I prefer the characters I like to get hurt in stories. Weird.
Amaq Iraluq chapter 8 . 10/20/2006
Brillaint! i wish there was more
Terri Stephens chapter 1 . 6/17/2006
Very clever! It was the HEALTHY chickens who were making everybody sick. I like the way we get to see Carson's mental processes, but it would be nice to know what he is observing and how he draws his conclusions. Maybe he could put it in his report? Or explain it to McKay, maybe to keep him interested and awake sometime when he has a concussion. Granted Rodney hates Biology; but he loves data. FYI apparently Rodney's personality is based on various computer geeks whom Hewlett has known and loved-he's something of a computer geek himself.
Terri Stephens chapter 5 . 6/16/2006
"...as the needle drove home, perhaps a little firmly." One of the ugliest and most unfunny cliches of Stargate Sg-1/Atlantis is that the doctors hurt people who annoy them. I always assumed that it was O'Neill kidding around with Janet, since in no way do I believe that he would put up with it for real, nor would Dr. Jackson. As far as McKay's hypochondria, Rodney has at least one major, life-threatening allergy, and possibly non-imaginary hypoglycemia. Both of these are SERIOUS conditions, although both the show and fanfic treat them as comic relief. He has a demonstrated proneness to mood swings, including a tendency to panic, although I would certainly not say "panic attacks," which are quite different. He seems to have undiagnosed Asberger's Syndrome. Given these circumstances, it would be AMAZING if Rodney were not a hypochondriac. I am so SICK of seeing him being mocked and abused for conditions for which he is apparently not being treated. (He seems to be in therapy with Heightmeyer, but Heightmeyer is an idiot.)

With all his problems, Rodney labors like a Trojan for these ungrateful jerks and exposes himself to dangers for which he is unsuited both by temperament and training. Remember, Shepperd, Ford, and all the Marines are adrenaline junkies who LIKE danger. And so is Teyla-she just hides it better. Rodney likes KNOWLEDGE. He is driven by the mania of all great scientists: the desire to know everything.
Delka chapter 8 . 2/14/2006
Nice read.
Rainchaser chapter 8 . 10/16/2005
And another good story..!

I think I need to pry myself away from the computer screen now, before I end up staying up all night and being late for work tomorrow.

Looking forward to reading the next story. _
Titan5 chapter 8 . 9/14/2005
I'm a little behind - just now finding this. It's really, really, really good. Loved all the medical stuff. That always makes it seem so real. Good look at Carson and it seemed so much like him! And of course, the good job of Shep whumping as well.
