This is the smartest way I've seen the problem of time travel dealt with. If you really can't change anything, it probably would be the least painful solution. It even allowed her to return to her original time!
The last section's argument over points made me laugh.

Yes they should. Because chronologically (thought not her personal chronology) Hermione was a Slytherin first. Which meas that she actually infiltrated Gryffindor rather than Slytherin. _
