This is a brilliant piece of writing. I've only read J/7 fanfic, but this is absolutely winning in every way. Your respect and love for all these characters shines through in the dignity you give each of them. I especially like how tender and kind you are towards Seven. I've read a couple J/C stories and Seven is written like a sociopath. I don't see her that way. I see her as "autistic," she has a hard time managing humans and huiman notions, but she's got a great heart. This is the first C/7 story I will "Fave" and "Save" and come back to many, many times when I'm feeling low or anxious and need something lovely to make me feel better.

I came across this while reading the much long ago thread on C/7 and whether people liked it or hated it, and I came across your link - which lead me here, which made my night absolutely perfect. I have been a C/7 fan for as long as I can remember, and your story just includes so many aspect of their relationship that I believe makes them fit so well together - Chakotay's understanding of her quirks, his patience, and Seven's giddy expressions are very accurate with how we saw her in Endgame. You've written a fantastic piece of post-Voyager fiction and I enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you.
