Orealie chapter 1 . 4/26/2008
I really liked this.
Haveniryxia chapter 1 . 6/29/2005
Wow. That story was so sad. I almost cried. Great job. I enjoyed it.
wiverex chapter 1 . 6/2/2005
heavy... didn't think things could go that way when I saw the film. I like how the terminator nearly had human emotions but that and his ending deviated from the original story. Besides that it was an excellent alternate story. Well done.
Callioope chapter 1 . 6/22/2004
Wow. That was really sad and depressing - but the writing was amazing. Very well done.
Anonymousandnameless chapter 1 . 3/19/2004
That was a truly amazing story, very emotional and dark though. I hope you write more stuff like this!
Andross937 chapter 1 . 1/7/2004
Wow... That was really emotion filled. It makes on wonder about alot of things. This story was really good, even if it was super dark. Though, I personally believe there may have been another human who would take up the cause of humanity and its survival, John Conner was the best chance of their success because of his childhood experiences. Please keep up the good work.
ElvenRanger chapter 1 . 1/2/2004
Dude, that was very cool. I liked it.
xeab chapter 1 . 12/23/2003
How wonderfully morbid. Nice twilight-zone-ish kind of story. One thing that was especially nice was the emotion you added to an otherwise emotionless scene in Terminator 3 (the part where John is holding a gun to his head).
Mat chapter 1 . 12/19/2003
Just to say your story was amazing! It was filled with such mature detail, and the writing itself was incredible. It has reli got me thinking. Fantastic.
ncloudo chapter 1 . 12/14/2003
The first time I read this story I was intrigued by it. In truth when I started reading I didn't know what to expect, but I would not be disappointed.
"Based on your pupil dilation, skin temperature and motor functions, I calculate an eighty three pe cent probability that you will not pull that trigger."
I was fairly interested when I first saw this scene in T3: Judgement Day. Surprised to see the terminator could react this way, capable of ignoring that seven per cent chance that could badly corrupt his mission.
I guess since the terminator cannot typically destroy himself, it would be understandable to presume a human could and therefore his calucations in this scenario could easily have been misplaced.
"Self Termination" shows us an image of what might have happened. How the story might have turned out if John Connor's life had ended here.
Amazingly enough this story seems capable of fitting in perfectly as an alternative ending to the third terminator installment.
Although of course this film could not have gone down this path withoutleaving the audience feeling unsatisfied and cheated, you can still feel it happening.
As a piece of fan fiction I believe this story is unique, and without question is more than worthy of great credit.
It posesses depth, a touch of humour, and an unfaltering ability to continue from the part of the film where it takes off.
There are a few flaws in this story, but all of them seem to max themselves out.
Kate Brewster is not directly told she and John are to be a couple in the future until after the possible suicide sequence, but there are more than enough indirect hints to make it believable that she knows what her destiny was supposed to be.
Next Kate notes that the terminator is no longer willing to follow her commands, this is definitley something she does not discover until after the possible suicide scene.
But it is believable that there may have been an alternative scene where the terminator again explains to Kate that he is programmed to follow her commands, it is simply cut from this story.
And finally terminators can not self terminate. The most irritating flaw in the story, but still not too bad of one.
"My CPU is a learning computer, the more time I spend with humans the more I learn." - Quote from the terminator in T2: Judgement Day
Perhaps it is possible that the terminator can not self terminate not because it is something he does not understand not something he cannot do.
If this is the case, then in this story he has obviously learnt to understand, which leaves this story with a dark creepy edge that brings it to a fantastic conclusion
Valerie chapter 1 . 11/28/2003
Wow Jane, that was the most deppressing, yet well written T-3 tangent i have read yet.
Wow...Like seriously that almost fell into a the true flavor of t-2 but with a darker plot twist.
*thumbs up*
But... I still cant wait for you to continue your other T-3 fanfics.
But any rate this was a nice change of pace and it seemed like it excercised your ability as a writer also.
Im impressed and cant wait for more
