Loving this. So far I do hope it's in the next part been been so many years that I know if it's not complete the other parts probably never going to be I just wanted to let you know that I like it love this and I really hated how the show ended. Thank you! :-)

ah, RL keeps me out of the fanfic loop for a few months and i miss not one but TWO new fics by you... sorry 'bout that. Thus is RL.
This is fascinating so far, both parts. While you picture Cole as a little darker than i do and Mel a little more worldly, your take always keeps me coming back for more :)
In your Part 1, I love Cole's reflections and obvious guilt over what he knows that Mel doesn't. His despair over having to go home and his love for Mel shine through clearly. This first installment alone left me hoping for more, wondering where you were leading...
And the three chapters already up of the second have also left me wondering for more. I love Mel's sadness over Cole's leaving, her absolutely bereft emotional state. And her worry over the same things that Cole was reflecting on in the first part is wonderful. Certainly, knowing what she now knows, she WOULD be very worried about these things.
Also interested to see about this young woman she noticed in the cafe. Will look forward to seeing more on this line
