I have been a fan of this story ever since it was first published and I'm really starting to lose hope. I really want to see it finished because you write so well and your characterization is spot on. Please, please, please finish it, it would mean so much!

exileena chapter 20 . 8/11/2007
I really hope to see the next chapter of this wonderful story. I would love to see Will and Elizabeth grow close again. What will be Elizabeth's reaction to Will asleep in her bed? Does Will have to courage to let his heart heal or will he backslide? Will the two work on their communication skills and how does Norrington interact with the returned Will Turner?

Your story has been selected for addition into the C2 archive “Polished and Shining”.

Listing in this archive not only determines your knack of storytelling and innate talent for the written craft, but may give you the recognition you deserve. Your hard work and determination has paid off, and your story is not only compelling, but shines as one of those rare gems that readers often search for in vain.

You have no idea how happy it made me to see this story updated. You are my hero. :)

Oh, what can I say that hasn't already been said? It's so wonderfully written, and so typically Will to try and back out of the marriage for her sake, only to come rushing home the minute he thinks she may be ill. I especially love that he holds her in the end, even though he's so insecure. I hope she sets him straight in the next chapter. :)

Anyway, I feel like I'm starting to ramble. So, I'll stop. But know that this story is still one of my absolute favorites. Update soon!
Smithy chapter 20 . 3/28/2007
I know I've reviewed this chapter before, but going over it reminds me of someone else in literature {and later a mini-series} who never thought himself worthy of a woman's love after a crippling injury. If you've ever read 'North and South', you would know who I am talking about. Orry Main lost his arm {permanent limp in the mini-series because they couldn't do that to Patrick Swayze} and he thought himself incapable of wooing a woman, yet even though he was an amputee, he was able to win the love of a wonderful woman. The kicker was that she was married to a very awful man. This is exactly how Will is behaving. Yet, miracles do happen, and I am praying that you somehow work a reverse of his hearing loss into it.
Jack E chapter 20 . 3/26/2007
Oh my gosh, I can't express how relieved how am that you didn't abandon this thing-I had feared the worse. Okay, since you updated, I'm making a commitment to get my chapter out asap.

The chapter... the only thing that I caught was, towards the beginning, the repetition of how Will and Elizabeth are staying away from each other in kind of similar phrasing. But that's mostly me being nit-picky... And the sentence "He'd learned quickly to keep to avoid walking in the middle of the road"; feels kind of skewed. Just in case you want to look at it.

Otherwise... How could you freakin' cut it off as he's holding her? Mean!

Cheers,

Jack E.

If you were to choose to abandon this story, I may have to take drastic measures, such as giving you a papercut and pouring lemon juice on it. :(

Hehe. Anyway. Yes, we've been waiting for this update for awhile, but it was well worth it as usual and I'm hardly one to talk!

Let's see, my favorite parts. I was really moved by the way you described Elizabeth's reaction to the sight of Will's scars, and also how you conveyed the tension of their estrangement. It is very believable that Will's only solace would be in his trade, so I thought that was a wonderful touch; all together, the chapter was sad and beautiful and great!

It was neat to have Elizabeth's episode at the end, because suddenly Will had to stop being the victim for a moment and realize that his place in life was protecting the ones he loved, despite his silent bitterness and emptiness.

Of course, you had the amazing ending unique to your writing style. That last paragraph was so beautifully written that I had to read it several times over. We have been longing to see the pure tenderness of Will and Elizabeth's relationship emerge once more, and that sad glimpse of it was so satisfying for me as a reader and impressive to me as a writer.

Naturally, however, it left me wanting more, as every chapter of this story does! So update asap! But don't worry; writer's blocks suck, and it's better to take longer and convey the story how you really want to than to rush and mess up the story entirely. So take however long you need to give us another great chapter- I know I'll still be here waiting for it, and I'm sure your other readers will be too!

Long Review. Muaha. Fabulous update!
