Reviews for The Calling
annafan chapter 1 . 6/29
I loved this when I read it at Teitho (and it was so unmistakably your voice).

"It would be very quick, he thought. He knew how to make it very quick." Utterly chilling. Thank heavens for being called back from the brink and awaking to better things.
sian22 chapter 1 . 6/26
Absolutely thrilled to see this lovely piece win and so v happy to have helped even the teensiest bit. Amongst so many bits to adore I think my favourite parts are the intransigence of the prickly plant that he gives his water too.. helping another worthy comrade always- and the Standing Silence. For them both to do it..even if he had little heart.. it gives me shivers...
megSUPERFAN chapter 1 . 6/25
This is so well-written and thought-provoking! I think the last section was my favorite, but all of it was wonderful. I am a little confused on what is happening in "Confessor". Who is the man who talks to Faramir? Is it real or a dream?
the8horcrux chapter 1 . 6/23
Awesome. Thank you.
phyloxena chapter 1 . 6/22
Always do good to see you! And read about hope. So Faramir is sustained by the promise of very small things? It’s entirely inappropriate, but the Confessor reads like Faramir is called to inflate a zeppelin with a hand pump.
Guest chapter 1 . 6/20
What an evocative piece!
CarawynO chapter 1 . 6/19
This is a wonderful series of scenes, and I am so pleased that it placed first. Well deserved, I think!

So many lovely moments, and powerful ones. The sword's song, the man in the dark corner with hood and pipe... Just delightful all around.
Chiara Cadrich chapter 1 . 6/19
Magnifique ! A brilliant set of vignettes.
silverswath chapter 1 . 6/19
Very beautiful! Love how it presages their relationship.
Darkover chapter 1 . 6/18
Dear Altariel, This story deserved to place first. It is excellent, very descriptive, and Faramir's dreams/visions are creatively written. I love how they all led up to the final "King" passage. The friendship between Faramir and Aragorn is not explored often enough in fan fiction, and you have done a fine job in writing this story. Thank you for sharing it with us! Sincerely, Darkover
